Um... Lyrics
Blackened doors and
The great great one
Pick a low number
Go
Decorating my doorway
Decorating my walls
Making the bed, looking foward to sleep
Letting myself fall
Sorry for my dreams
I just didn't know
How long you could wait
Doesn't matter now
Scrambling over it
Knees all skinned and trees
Laying tired old eyes
Feeling young and scared
I never have owned this
Without this tie with you
I'll never have wanted
To not have what we went through
Sorry for my dreams
I just didn't know
How long you could wait
Doesn't matter now
Sorry for my dreams
I just didn't know
How long you could wait
Doesn't matter now
So wont you go?
Lie to your love
Just go
Creep up on girls alone
Alone, just go
The great great one
Pick a low number
Go
Decorating my walls
Making the bed, looking foward to sleep
Letting myself fall
I just didn't know
How long you could wait
Doesn't matter now
Knees all skinned and trees
Laying tired old eyes
Feeling young and scared
Without this tie with you
I'll never have wanted
To not have what we went through
I just didn't know
How long you could wait
Doesn't matter now
I just didn't know
How long you could wait
Doesn't matter now
Lie to your love
Just go
Alone, just go

it sounds to me like he left someone and went somewhere to follow his dreams...and hes trying to fix up his new place to make it feel like home, but it doesn't feel quite right because he doesn't want to leave the person behind waiting for him because they've been through so much together...possibly a going off to college story? or maybe thats just the mindset i'm in right now...i really like this song a lot...
The ultimate song of regret.
i don't know specifically what he's talking about, but i love the lines "I'd never have owned this without this time with you, i'll never have wanted to not have what we went through" that parallels for me my last serious relationship... i would never have owned my own life or become my own person without the relationship and even though he really hurt me i wouldn't give it up for anything. ho hum... just my thought.
I think the song is about a seperation with someone as well. "So wont you go?/ Lie to your love/ Just go" kind of connotes some sort of way he said that if you're not going to seperate from someone, then "who the fuck cares you heartless bitch, just cheat on them" sort of thing.
but it really does sound like a going off to college thing.
i think it's about trying to love someone from far away and having them cheat on you... "i just didn't know how long you could wait" and "lie to your love"... it makes perfect sense to me now.
I love this song. I got "lie to your love..." put on a t-shirt. (+1 scene points)
I think it's about being friends with someone who loves you. And you know they're in love with you, but you don't feel that way about them - or maybe you do, and you just don't want to admit it to yourself. And then one day you wake up and realise that you love them too, but it's too late.
"Sorry for my dreams. I just didn't know How long you could wait. Doesn't matter now."
i think it's about a long distance relationship (maybe a relationship that failed because of jonah being on tour?) but a long distance relationship none-the-ess
"i just didn't know how long you could wait doesn't matter now"
makes sense to me
