God Is a DJ Lyrics
This is my Church
This is where I heal my hurts
It's in natural grace
Or watching young lives shape
It's in minor keys
Solutions and remedies
Enemies becoming friends
When bitterness ends
This is my Church
This is my Church
This is my Church
This is where I heal my hurts
It's in the world I've become
Containded in the hum between voice and drum
It's in change
The poetic justice of cause and effect
Respect, Love, Compassion
This is my Church
This is where I heal my hurts
For tonight God Is A DJ

i always thought of raves as religious experiences: a mass congregation under one roof (sometimes), tapping into the collective consciousness, losing themselves in music, contacting a Higher Power.
a rave must be the only mass gathering of people (besides Church) that doesn't erupt in violence.
a good rave is my monthly dose of God...
@roger wilco 'This is my church' I agree. Week in, Week out, we gathered together, in groups of varying sizes, more strangers than not, and we celebrated en masse using the music to carry us away - and many of us some chemical assistance too - subsumed in the mob of happy, carefree, caring people, part of something bigger than ourselves, joined in a togetherness by our sharing of the experience. Clever DJs would turn their sets into a magical journey where they were the conductors of the crowd using the music to take us up and down, hands up,...

Clever DJs would turn their sets into a magical journey where they were the conductors of the crowd using the music to take us up and down, hands up, heads down, rhythms of hooks, breaks, vocals, climbing and climbing to an unknown peak for the big drop... A togetherness of feeling, a sharing of souls connecting, of experiencing, of being. Everything you need from a religious celebration except the kiddy fiddling men in dresses.
You may think that is strange, but at rpg meetings there´s no violence either...strange isn´t it ?
I read somewhere that Maxi Jazz, lead singer and lyricist was known as the Grand Oral Disseminator, or GOD. Hence GOD is a DJ. Any thoughts?
I'm not really familiar with faithless or any of the songs really, but I heard this on SonicFreaks.com so I downloaded it... it's an awesome rave song but frankly, I don't like the one part of the song where it brings in that new beat. . . That's what made it become annoying....overall it's a pretty good song
@Chickenburger God is a DJ and Insomnia are Faithless's two biggest crowd pleasing rave favourites. The feeling of being part of a crowd, experiencing either of these was something immense

Lank cool keyboards. Cause and effect.
i pretty much agree with the 1st comment, i think tht maxi is claiming tht to him music is like a religion, christians congregate to pray nd preach to help them when theryre feelin low or in times of need nd for maxi nd many people this is the affect music has on them. Music can bring people together im personally never happier than wen im at a gig or festival nd i think they'res no better atmosphere than in a feild of thousands of happy danceing people so meterphorically god is a dj!
