A Time For Everything Lyrics
Once it seemed there would always be
a time for everything.
Ages passed I knew at last
my life had never been.
I'd been missing what time could bring.
Fifty years and I'm filled with tears and joys
I never cried.
Burn the wagon and chain the mule.
The past is all denied.
There's no time for everything.
No time for everything.
a time for everything.
Ages passed I knew at last
my life had never been.
I'd been missing what time could bring.
Fifty years and I'm filled with tears and joys
I never cried.
Burn the wagon and chain the mule.
The past is all denied.
There's no time for everything.
No time for everything.

Same statement as Alan Parson's Day After Day (the show must go on). A message to the youth: Do Something! You'll never regret that you didn't spend enough time in the office. These are the Good Old Days. Make the memories now or you'll be a regretfull old geezer.
Along these same lines was Pink Floyd's later song "Time"... with its lines such as "No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun" etc. etc.
It is a great topic to write a song about, and would have occurred independently to a lot of people. Though I sometimes wonder if Pink Floyd's "The Wall" was not sort of a restatement (with refocus) of Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick."
A Parsons Project fan!
Title comes from (I think) the Song of Songs (or whatever it's called). Spin off of that.
this song is musically superior and the sparse lyrics make it a real treat. A.
It is certainly more true now than ever that there is no time for everything. With the advent of recorded music and YouTube, and cable tv, there is not enough time in a thousand lifetimes to sample all that has and is being recorded with concision.
There was once a wise old sage that told us that the deity had placed eternity within our hearts. Quite a few of his sayings have come down to us, though we know that he did not do a very good job of practicing what he recommended. But he looked within himself and wondered from where came his infinite longings. His last advice was: "Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man."
Not profound, really. Do something, it's better to fail than to have never tried, life is short, you'll regret the undone more than the done, etc. A common message usually lost on youth and, in most rock music, written by youth. Interesting.
But from the more mature, we can fine a different perspective, from the future looking back, not about regret. We have something like Rush in "Time Stand Still":
"Summer's going fast Nights growing colder Children growing up Old friends growing older Freeze this moment A little bit longer."
There's no time for everything, surely. But looking back no matter what you did or didn't do, it's the past, and doors closed, but you should stop regretting the done or undone and realize where you are and what is.
The wisdom of the "Do something while there's time" is replaced with "It ultimately doesn't matter. There is only now. There was always only now." No regrets.
This song goes to the very depths of my soul. She reminds me that time is relentless and unpredictable. Once it seemed that there would always be time for everything, but over the centuries I realized that my life flew past me. In these fifty years, I experienced many tears and joys that I never spoke about.
This song is very touching and deep. I love how the author uses metaphors and contrasts to show the difference between the past and the present. It makes you think about how we spend our time and what we miss in life. I agree with the author that there is always not enough time and you need to build your time management competently, you need to be able to choose what is important and what is not, otherwise, you might end up living in regrets and nostalgia. In school, I read studies on www.writingbros.com/essay-examples/time-management, and I know it’s not easy, but it’s a useful skill and I’m sure that after many years we all think about what we’ve done with our life and how we used our time. The song sounds very sincere and emotional. I think that many people can identify with her and feel the same as the singer. This is one of those songs that make you appreciate every moment and not regret anything.
