Starshaped Lyrics
Wash with new soap behind the collar
Keeps a clean mental state
Don't usually bother in cold weather
But I'm still getting into work late
And I don't need the practice
I've been making plans (for the future)
Become an unconcious man (all for the good)
I feel so uneccesary (we don't think so, you seem starshaped)
I have a couple at the week-end
Helps keep up camaraderie
And my mind boggles in the muddle
At the possibilities
And I don't need the practice
I've been making plans (for the future)
Become an unconcious man (all for the good)
I feel so uneccesary (we don't think so, you seem starshaped)
Wash with new soap behind the collar
Helps keep down the laundry
And now I bother in cold weather
Cause it cleans me mentally
And I really don't need the practice
I've been making plans (for the future)
Become an unconcious man (all for the good)
I feel so uneccesary (we don't think so, you seem starshaped)
Keeps a clean mental state
Don't usually bother in cold weather
But I'm still getting into work late
I've been making plans (for the future)
Become an unconcious man (all for the good)
I feel so uneccesary (we don't think so, you seem starshaped)
Helps keep up camaraderie
And my mind boggles in the muddle
At the possibilities
I've been making plans (for the future)
Become an unconcious man (all for the good)

This is one of my favourite blur songs. It really sums up the mundanity that can be felt in a nine to five experience when you don't enjoy the job you have.
Great song. It uses the office job metaphor perfectly, and how a boss can talk you up, just to wring every last good drop out of you for their own benefit. It seems pretty clear to me though, that this is a metaphor for the music industry and the treatment blur got in their early years
Yeah, it might be my favourite from the album.
