The Effect Of Departure From Ideal Proportion Lyrics

no compassion as i pass my eyes over this wasteland in disbelief disappointment slaps me in the face i lose my ability to speak this thoughtless acceptance this absolute horror and now i watch i watch it pull you in eyes once filled with passion existing for the moment never taking in acknowledgement of self respect morals decay i turn and walk the other way in rage but never forgetting how easily you turned into what i hate

Cover art for The Effect Of Departure From Ideal Proportion lyrics by This Day Forward

This song is about someone disappointing you and changing. He is angry as he looks at the mess they've made and disappointment comes over him. He tries to talk to the person about it, but they aren't listening to them and it's tough for him to watch as they just continue to change. He looks at how they only think about having fun in the current times and how they don't even care about themselves, how it's affecting them or how morally sound their decisions are. He realizes the only thing he can do is walk away, so much as not to hurt himself, but he's still angry about the fact that they changed in to everything he hates and he won't be forgetting about it any time soon.
