Firstly, why has no one posted on this yet?! This song is about how growing up under thatcherism in britain the younger generations were somewhat encouraged to idolise everything american, and as such when they found their voice they despised america, hence this song. Class song, long live cool brittania lol!

I think this song is briliant! humourous..

Really captures the fact that many people want to go to America and see it as dream country but only know it from what they've seen to be made interesting or fun from tv...

I like the dreamy feel of the song.

One of Blur's better songs, cynical and dreary. Think it's about everyone's plan "B", to go to a, frankly, magical haven, which is, in reality, just as bad as their own country behind a fresh, new image.
