Slave Lyrics
Don't wanna be your slave
Hey, why don't you go down to the supermarket
Get something to eat, steal something of the shelves
Pass by the liquor store
Be back about quarter to twelve
Baby go, baby go, baby go
Do it yeah
One time I was sloshed at this unusual work party. It was a send off for a lawyer who was leaving Philadelphia for somewhere in Californinia. It was on a ferry boat that went around on the Delaware River and the big boss's boyfriend was the disc jockey and he put this song on. Newer thought of this as a dance song before that - but we jammed.
@coo2kachoo If you are not moving around by the end of this jam someone should check your pulse! Great jam prob done on one take too!!

I’ve always loved this song and thought of it as the ultimate bridge between quality and accessibility. The slow riff and rhythm is so easy to follow and enjoy, the chorus is so fun to sing along with, the instrumental breaks are melodic and engaging, and the message is so clear. I always like to put this one on when I’m hanging with people who aren’t necessarily fans of The Rolling Stones. Since I’m younger, those people still tend to say “next song” somewhere into the guitar solo (shorter attention spans, especially for classic rock songs it seems), but it has a higher succes rate than say, “can’t you hear me knocking” or “midnight rambler.” Even if I think those songs might be better, partially the live version of midnight rambler from get yer ya-yas out, the fact that I can enjoy this one with my friends adds another criterion for potential liking it more.
Great guitar and sax at the end of this one.
dudes, i love this song to death. i heard on the radio and was like damn that's good music. i love the beat, the sax, the organs. the sax and organs are one of my favorite instruments the effect that it creates on music is so damn right. Also, jagger's falsetto when he cries "do it! do it! do it!" is cool too okay, listen to this song and really notice how this song was put together. So clever and brilliant ok im done now thanks
