This is one of the most beautiful and saddest songs I have heard. Shamelessly sentimental. A brave song in that respect. "...cause a picture is all you are to me a picture is all you'll ever be..."

I was just going to say this. It sounds like it's about a long-distance relationship, but one where the individuals have never met. That or he's simply in love with someone he's met online that he wasn't really in a relationship with.

Are you kidding me? The internet may not have had the prominence in 1993 that it does today, but this was definitely in existence. Likewise, it can still be about a long-distance relationship...perhaps sparked through the love of a pen pal or something.
