The police in New York City
They chased a boy right through the park
And in a case of mistaken identity
They put a bullet through his heart

Heartbreakers with your forty-four
I want to tear your world apart
You heart breaker with your forty-four
I want to tear your world apart

A ten-year-old girl on a street corner
Sticking needles in her arms
She died in the dirt of an alleyway
Her mother said she had no chance, no chance

Heartbreaker, heartbreaker
She stuck the pins right in her heart
Heartbreaker, pain maker
Stole the love right out your heart

Oh yeah, oh yeah
Want to tear your world apart
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Want to tear your world apart

Heartbreaker, heartbreaker
You stole the love right out of my heart
Heartbreaker, heartbreaker
I want to tear that world
I want to tear that world a-
Ah yeah, ah yeah
I want to tear that world apart

Heartbreaker, heartbreaker
Stole the love, you stole the love
Ah yeah
You said you didn't have no chance
Ah yeah, ah yeah
She stuck pins right in her heart
Ah yeah, you're a heartbreaker
I wanna tear that world apart

such a perfect rock song. menacing and less blackness (and historical disaster baggage) than sympathy for the devil.

This song obviously has to do with drugs in teenagers, and police being vigilantes. Otherwise this song is a great party song, and actually sounds rather "cheery".

    My Opinion

The Headcheese in New York City They cheesed a boy right through the park And in the case of steak and hot hominy They found cause to drop a fart

Wind breakers with your dirty bum Why must u make it stink around here You Windbreaker with your dirty bum I don't want to hear your stinkin farts

You pretend you're not there on the street corner As the girl bequeaths a little fart She left it in the dirt of an alleyway Her mother said she had no chance, no chance!

Wind breaker, Wind breaker She got the stink right from her fart Wind breaker, stain maker Holds the wind right out of your fart

Oh yeah, oh yeah Don't want to hear your stinkin farts Oh yeah, oh yeah Don't want to hear your stinkin farts

Wind breaker, wind breaker You stole the wind right out of my fart Wind breaker, wind breaker Don't want to hear your stinkin fart Don't want to hear your stinkin fart I Don't want to hear that stinkin fart

Wind breaker, wind breaker Silent but deadly load Oh yeah, oh yeah

Windbreaker, windbreaker Don't want to hear that stinkin fart

Doo, doo doo doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
