Big Mistake Lyrics

There's no sign on the gate,
And there's mud on your face,
Don't ya think it's time we re-invistigate this situation,
Put some fruit on your plate,
You forgotten how it started,
Close your eyes, Think of all the bubbles of love we made,
and you're down on your knees,
It's too late, Oh don't come crawling,
And you lie by my feet, What a big mistake,
I see you fallin', got a buzz in my head,
And my flowers are dead,
Can't figure out a way to rectify this situation,
Don't believe what you said,
You forgotten how it all started,
Close your eyes, think of all the bubbles of love we made,
And your down on your knees, It's too late,
Oh don't come crawlin', and you'd lie by my feet,
What a big mistake, I see you fallin',
I could sting like a bee, careful how you treat me,
B aby I don't think i'll accept your sorry invitation,
Close the door as you leave,
And you cry over me, I can't wait,
I feel you stallin', And you try to reach me,
What a big mistake, I hear you callin',
( Chorus )

About a guy that hurt her, came crawling back, she doesn't want anything to do with him, though.

Oddly enough, every time I hear this song I don't find the obvious meaning - Woman Scorned and so forth - but quite a bit of love. She is looking at someone who hurt her deeply, which couldn't have happened if she hadn't loved him deeply. He is obviously trying to win her back; failing to do so, yes, but he is making an honest effort. She talks about love, asks him to remember how it used to be... would she do that if it wasn't worth remembering?

K, here's my interpretation. She's breaking up with a guy because he cheated on her or almost cheated on her. It's too late to beg for forgiveness. "You've forgotten how it started" refers to how they got together, possibly behind the back of another woman. Now she regrets it, sees it as a big mistake, once a cheater always a cheater. She's reminding him of what he's lost.

I pretty much agree with missme as the meaning. But this is like, the best Nat song EVER. I just got the Greatest hits CD and I totally forgot about this song until i was goin thru the CD. It's really really good.

he cheatted on her and now he's regreat and on his knees apologizing so she is tellin him to remember how their love started, and to think about all the good moments they had but now theres nothing left.. she is not goint to forgive him.

this song is so underated i see it as a pretty dark song thats put to pop music and its amazing its about someone wanting you back they think of all the good times and try and remind you of them and your over it you have had it and you dont care they are nothing anymore you could be dark and nasty and you tell them that but really you just no longer feel anything but pity for them at how pathetic they are
