I'm not exactly sure what the hell this song is about. It sounds like she's talking about a fling she had with someone in the summer...but then it starts talking about life and how it ends..and that she's 50 000 miles away from home? fucks me..someone smart write in here so i know what its about. I love it though...i love faithless and i can't believe no one wants to write about their farkin great songs.
i don't think it's a recent breakup cos she talks about how the summer puts him back on her mind. it's like summer has come round again and she remembers the relationship and it once was/used to be before it went bad. but i do think she's left home. gone away. she's going home cause she misses it. i think it's both. a break up and missing home.
It's aload of bullshit that this song hasn't been commented on since 2005 yet Fall Out Boy sits up the top of the most popular lyrics. KIDS THESE DAYS. This ain't a scene .. SERIOUSLY who gives a fuck ? Faithless and Chicane keep making music that makes people feel.
I think this songs is about a women who left all his life behind, like if she left her hometown for being away of a person who she used to love, but at the same time she miss, and she cannot get out of his mind.
this song is about a recent breakup and fresh wounds. the narrator obviously enjoys the freedom, but misses the security. this song was the best kept secret on the album, until it was released as a single. no harm done, i think, but truly one of Faithless's finer works.
the vocalist/writer of this choon is Zoe Johnston, formerly of the electronic group Dusted.

People ascribe meanings to things. She is reminded of her past relationship, and she gets a flood of memories and emotion. Every summer, perhaps when she sees fields, or rain or grass, its a reminder, somewhat painful, but bearable.

i agree that this song was a fantastic secret that has been buzzed over by countless faithless fans worldwide. But what a voice!! I can see Zoe becoming a huge hit in a couple of years time ! Mark my words .... Anyway , i'd buy her solo material just like ive got Dido's !!!
