Can't Erase It Lyrics
.:: Can't Erase It ::.
Follow the crowd and love everybody now
'Cause love is the best thing for you now
But you changed your mind, you let everybody down
But down is the best place for you
It's easier that way, you know it's
So wrong, can't embrace it
wish sometimes for any other you
But you can't erase it, and you won't escape it
Don't waste your time
Your words only confine you
To all of the things you've buried now
Don't ask them why
Their wisdom will leave you blind
But blind is the best thing for you
It's easier I know, you know it's
So wrong, can't embrace it
Wish sometimes for any other you
But you can't erase it, and you won't escape it
How long will you face it
Till the wait comes crashing down on you
'Cause you can't erase it, and you won't escape it
'Cause love is the best thing for you now
But you changed your mind, you let everybody down
But down is the best place for you
It's easier that way, you know it's
wish sometimes for any other you
But you can't erase it, and you won't escape it
Your words only confine you
To all of the things you've buried now
Don't ask them why
Their wisdom will leave you blind
But blind is the best thing for you
It's easier I know, you know it's
Wish sometimes for any other you
But you can't erase it, and you won't escape it
Till the wait comes crashing down on you
'Cause you can't erase it, and you won't escape it

i think this song is a reminder about not letting the things of this world trap us... we cant let everything bother us all the time, because we will only be crushed by the weight of it all
i like the words to this song, even though I've never heard it. Actually I know the band because, believe it or not, my dentist's son is in the band! Go figure! Don't get too excited...I don't know the guy personally
"But you can't erase it, and you won't escape it"
it could be about homosexuality.
i think it's more about that you can't erase your past, so you just need to deal with it. that's why "Love is the best thing for you now". needing to love yourself as God loves you. "Your words only confine you To all of the things you've buried now" as in burying your past, being blind to it, and just needing to confess when you've screwed up and deal with the consequences.
also, zacster! who's your dentist? that's so cool!
Dan Haseltine says this is "About fighting our deepest desire to be who we are not." (http://members.aol.com/abishort/lyrics.htm).
I think the lines that say "love is the best thing for you now," "down is the best place for you," and "blind is the best thing for you" might be facetious. Those lines may just be excuses for letting your life go on the way it's been going. "It's easier that way."
For me personally it might be about pretending to be just like the Christian establishment or the influential people in your own church. "Follow the crowd and love everybody now"--yes, you don't have to be a Christian to encourage people to love everyone, but I don't think this line could be about being trapped by the things of this world. Maybe it's about being trapped by Christian culture.
"Their wisdom will leave you blind"--their well-meaning advice isn't helpful, but you put up with it or don't ask for it; you never question it.
By the way, I am a Christian, in case anyone's wondering.
Necessarily concurrent with the will of modern man to deify himself is the perpetual reinvention of self; accordingly without historical revisionism and the subjugation of intuition or conscience, the absurdity of this project would be exposed and man, humbled and mortalized. Godless man will seek first a reconciliation with nature and the Primordial Unity of mankind, but "changes [his] mind" as he is confronted by his innate human selfishness that demands the throne of the god he has slain. He descends into the new "best place for [him]", the depths of the Void, the underworld, for it is here where man most easily deceives himself, both in the negation of reality and the creation of the illusory: "it's easier that way". But, paradoxically, it is here, too, amidst man's greatest isolation, apprehending the mountain he must climb, that his conscience squirms free of its bondage and frantically protests the ascent, limbs and tongue flailing wildly, and thus renders him unable to embrace his vision with the confidence and resolution his cause requires: "So Wrong/Can't Embrace/Erase/Escape It". Try as he might to deny, suppress, or exterminate his conscience by means of public renunciation or private counsel, man cannot win an internal civil war, much less engage in one and pursue another campaign simultaneously, unless he is prepared to permanently abandon his pursuit of happiness, annihilate any traces of it, and commit himself to evil.
song seems to be about our need to move on and "dont waste your time" with past mistakes(sins).
