Negative Creep Lyrics
This is out of our range, oh
This is getting to be, this is getting to be
This is getting to be, drone
I'm a negative creep and I'm stoned
I'm a negative creep, I'm a negative creep
I'm a negative creep, oh
Oh
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
This is out of our range and it's crude
This is getting to be, this is getting to be
This is getting to be a drone
I'm a negative creep and I'm stoned
I'm a negative creep, I'm a negative creep
I'm a negative creep and I'm
I'm
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Drone
Stoned
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more
Negative Creep is a first person narrative from an anti social person

Kurt in general was a pessemestic person that did alot of drugs , and was a true misanthropic writer. This song has kurt using himself as bait to his own self loathing . He's also using "daddys little girl aint a girl no more " as pure irony , kurts the grown up girl ,the negative creep , and he is stoned alot . This song seems to foreshadow kurts eventual fate it seems to me , its one of their most disturbing songs .
i disagreee, their most disturbing song is floyd the barber

how romantic (?)
This song's not about rape. It's just kurt saying how he thinks other people saw him. Also the live version of this song is at least 10 times better.
i fucking love this song! the guitar is sick and the vocals are great. its such a cool song. i think the song means whatever you want it to mean. there is never a set in stone meaning to anything.
Guys think WAY outside of the box like Kurt did... "Daddy's little girl aint a girl no more" ... Think about how society reacts... expecially in the past to kids who aren't "normal" per say... or as 'clean cut' as most would like to see their children... Then think of how the father figure reacts to a teenaged boy with long hair or ear rings... automatically theyre called a girl or refered to as the girly one etc.... so its pretty much him sending a big F*CK YOU to anybody and everybody who gave him shit about it. "Daddys little girl aint a girl no more"... Its not even that line... its Most of the song is about things that he got shit for as a teen. Bah i know what i mean... IM just not articulant today...
Man... I'm wondering if anyone commenting here is over the age of 12. This song doesn't "say" anything. He wasn't trying to "say stuff" in his lyrics till much later. At the point when this song was written he would make up 4 or 5 lines just to be saying anything at all, and it was mostly repetitive drivel so that he didn't have a bunch of lyrics to worry about remembering. He wrote this when he was more interested in working out his sound, and the same way that he borrowed the 'loud/quiet/loud' song formula from the Pixies - a band he admired - "daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more" was a lyrical play on Mudhoney's "Sweet Young Thing Ain't Sweet No More." Mudhoney was a band that Kurt really admired. Nirvana played a lot of early gigs with them. They brought Nirvana overseas with them and just before Dave Grohl confirmed joining the band, Mudhoney's drummer almost became Nirvana's new drummer. They took a lot of heat in the local scene for the similarities between Negative Creep and Sweet Young Thing. I'm not taking sides, because I like both bands. I was also actually alive and going to shows when his music came out, and know people that were around and involved in the making of this music. My advice for the kiddies: Kurt Cobain was a good musician, but don't go looking for meaning that isn't there. They're not all desperate cries for help waiting to be deciphered.
@lpr587 If you can't find the meaning in this (or any other) Nirvana song, that doesn't mean this song actually has no meaning, it just means YOU are not able to see it.

I would sincerely recommend to anyone who doesn't see the meaning in Kurt's lyrics to stop listening to Nirvana, because by doing that you are depreciating his talent and humiliating him as a person.

So stop acting like you are super smart or something, 'cause knowing everything won't help you to understand Nirvana, since Nirvana is about feelings. Instead of trying to open the minds of us,...
So stop acting like you are super smart or something, 'cause knowing everything won't help you to understand Nirvana, since Nirvana is about feelings. Instead of trying to open the minds of us, kiddies under the age of 12, you could try to open your heart and listen to Nirvana with the heart, maybe you would get the point then.
Untill then, just stop trying to seem smart for not having a soul, and telling to kiddies who got the point that WE are stupid.
By the way, it's oxymoron to write a post on SongMeanings, about a song not having any meaning.
true story i lost my virginity to this song
Thats downright crazy awesome

I guess then daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more ;D

I love this song, its one of my favorite Nirvana songs of all time. I'm not sure what it means but i go by what Chris Cornell says. What a song means is what you get from it. Peace
Haha, I think this song is quite humorous. I like the line "...and I'm stoned!". Great. I think in this song, he is expressing the teenagers angst and frustrations, because they're often let down or discouraged by their parents and other adults. So he's pretty fucked up and the girl is "Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more".
