So I made up my mind, it must come to an end
Look at me now, will I ever learn?
I don't know how but I suddenly lose control
There's a fire within my soul
Just one look and I can hear a bell ring
One more look and I forget everything, w-o-o-o-oh
My my, how can I resist you?
Mamma mia, does it show again?
My my, just how much I've missed you
Yes, I've been brokenhearted
Blue since the day we parted
Why, why did I ever let you go?
Mamma mia, now I really know,
My my, I could never let you go.
I can't count all the times that I've told you we're through
And when you go, when you slam the door
I think you know that you won't be away too long
You know that I'm not that strong.
Mamma mia, even if I say
Bye bye, leave me now or never
mamma mia, it's a game we play
Bye bye doesn't mean forever
My my, how can I resist you?
Mamma mia, does it show again?
My my, just how much I've missed you
Yes, I've been brokenhearted
Blue since the day we parted
Why, why did I ever let you go
Mamma mia, now I really know
My my, I could never let you go
although I think the song is indeed about going back to the same guy over and over again, I think it's not because the guy's good looking but because she has never stopped loving him; you know, when there's always something to split them up, but they always end up together
just think of the musical Mammam Mia!
I saw the musical!!! Best show i've ever seen the whole crows was on their feet singing along. it was great
This song, i agree its about the girl wanting it to end but is kept being drawn back to him because she's just loved him and cant stop.
The song is not about Bulimia. It is about love. The phrase "mama mia" is an Italian phrase that is often used when one is completely surprised or shocked. The person is saying "mama mia Here I go AGAIN with this guy/girl who I know I should NOT BE WITH, BUUUUUUT I like him." Mama mia is the title and the key phrase of the song. its not just "mia" its "mama mia". Mama mia= oh my/good lord, goodness gracious/holy crap/etc.
@aaliyah4ever This post is seven years old but I am so glad to have just now found it. Finally, I understand what "Mamma Mia" is.. I kept thinking why is singing to her Mama... saying how can I forget you?... Great song is very catchy.... etc. etc. thank you aaliyah4ever

This is such a great and upbeat song!
This is the best ABBA song!
It's actually the opposite of "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor. In this song, she keeps going back to a guy who treats her like crap just because he's good looking. But ABBA pulls it off in their wonderfully upbeat way. You've gotta love it.
Ha! - just think of this song at the end of Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert. Excellent! Heh heh.
such a fun song
According to the book 1000 UK Number One Hits by Jon Kutner & Spencer Leigh Bjorn explained “Stig Anderson would come up with titles and I’d write a lyric round them. ‘Mamma Mia was one of them.” It was the last song to be written and recorded for their last album, Abba. In the studio was a marimba, an instrument of African origin, similar to the xylophone, but with wooden bars, which Benny began playing to see what it sounded like. He liked the sound it made and began using it with a tick-tock effect.
Last year my chorus at school sang an ABBA medley and as I watched them sing it I heard this song and even though it is upbeat I got tears in my eyes because it sounded so much like me. I get over a guy and then next thing I know I want them again. I fall back in love and it hurts.
