Heir Of A Dying Day Lyrics

He's the one
when you feel the heat
that he makes you feel
as a wonder

He promises you
no more tears to cry
all the colours
into the rainbow

Comes after the rain to please
your eyes with all the colours that you
cannot see
he came to save us
you will see

Standing aside he's the saviour
of your only human part you
cannot see he came to save us
you will see

Breathing
as a child is born
as a cancer is
killing my past

I'm wondering
how long I'll resist
virus into my mind
as a rainbow

Shines on me
this little light on me
goes on

Feed it

This song to me is a rather spiritual song. Sometimes we all have our bad days. Sometimes we hit rock bottom when our emotions get the best of us. This song to me is feeling a tremendous spiritual low. To me it is knowing what its like to defy one of your morals, and to know you have to stand before God and tell him why you made the mistake that you did.

i this song is the one that got me into Lacuna Coil. im not great at interpreting songs, but it to me its like ceasing to do something intentionally wrong, and trying to change yourself for the better, but being scared you might be tempted to do it again.

That could be it too misanthropy. That is a splendid interpretation.

"Standing aside he's the saviour of your only human part you "

to me the only human part of ourselves is our souls. the rest is just flesh like an animal.

i suck at inperpreting things more than misanthropy lol. i think this means someone saving someone. least the first part of the song.

lol I think it's about hope and optimism. Some people seriously feel like they're losing control (virus) when they are told to rely on "blind faith". Hope is like a rainbow, it's magical, but it's so small in people and it needs to be fed. I myself have a tendency to be sagittarian and say "it's gonna be ok" so I can relate to this song.

i think its about trying to convince some one that it will be better after the "rain" passes because they cant see how good life really is and they dont bother to try

I think it's about someone who has no hope for life meeting someone who does. The person is trying to convince the other that there is more to the world than what meets the eye and everything can't stay bad forever "he promises you no more tears to cry all the colours into the rainbow"

To me, the song is about how destructive the belief in a salvationist messiah is. The early verses are all about the promises a messiah brings, that there will be no more tears, that he brings the dawn after the rain, that he is the savior essentially. Then next verses refer to how this belief is actually like a psychic virus that slowly destroys you, that this messiah born is a parasitic cancer. 'shine on me, this little light on me." This is the illusion the messiah casts, the mesmerizing rainbow projected into the mind. But then, "Feed it". It is a parasite, the rainbow is a lie, it demands and takes something from you. "Watch the dying day waltz." Everyone has put their faith in this lie, slowly destroying their community, integrity, they follow the savior, now all that's left to do is watch them die. These lyrics state an anti-religious allegory without naming names.
