I think this song is telling a story of two lovers. One is angry with the other, and is removing the other from the life they once shared. The sea can only caress for so long before it starts to swallow lives.
I think the song is about two lovers. One has betrayed the other and is begging for forgiveness but he is clearly turned off by what she has done and has no more desire for her.
For a long time, I didn't like this song, not because of the lyrics or the subject matter, but because I didn't feel Cristina and Andrea's performance on the album version adequately captured the animosity that this song represents. But when they did it live on the Unleashed Memories tour, they were singing to each other, and they were really getting into their characters, and that version of the song rocked. :-)
Basically what they said.....I love the aggresiveness of Andrea's voice on this, and the way Cristina sounds so calm on it, slightly similar to Self Deception I think! Dunno what everyone's problem with "In a Revire" is, I think it's an ace alum!
