Stately Lover Lyrics

I just need you absolutely
All the fears in your mind
I just want you absolutely
To sail this ship of mine

I don't know what the hell you're saying
'cause you're going blind
Using all the lies they taught you
To hurt your mind

And I can breathe now...

It's there, pretends to be a guide for you
Like a candle in the dark
Lies like a really cold breeze in the air
Step by step you'll lose your faith

I just need you miserably
Broken man come to me
I just need you desperately
Just want to change your mind

I think this song is about a woman that thinks she desperately needs someone and he thinks she has gone quite crazy. Her mind is biased by what other people have told her and he doesn't think it's right.

Ok, I agree with what the last person wrote, only in reverse. She's in love with a man who doesn't love her. He doesn't have Faith in their relationship because of what other people are telling him, & she's trying to get him to come to her, because if she can get him to come to her, she knows that she can change his mind. She sees that he's hurt & broken, & wants to help him, but she can't do that unless she can get him to come to her so she can heal him.

I think its a woman in need and a man in denial. The woman is trying to seduce the man but the man doesn't want to and thinks she's lost her mind. Yet even though he continues to ignore her, she still goes to him

Well I think that The Man (andi) thinks this woman (Cristina) is fucking nuts.

I think the woman is trying to engage him into this cult like brainwash while still proclaiming her love for him. She wants to know his fears to take advantage, which is what many cults do to bring followers in. She wants him to be on the same page with her: (just need you absolutely/All the fears in your mind/I just want you absolutely/To sail this ship of mine.)

But the man thinks she's lost her mind and thinks the mind control has made her so to say a blind follower that she believes it and it's hurting her: (I don't know what the hell you're saying/'cause you're going blind/Using all the lies they taught you/To hurt your mind.)

The third verse describes what a cult symbolizes. Sometimes a cult will make itself appear to be sympathetic and helping to the victim but it's more sinister than it appears: (It's there, pretends to be a guide for you/Like a candle in the dark/Lies like a really cold breeze in the air/Step by step you'll lose your faith)

The woman sees this man is vulnerable, yet he is resisting and once again she is proclaiming her love to him. Maybe to lure him in or maybe because she does love him: (I just need you miserably/Broken man come to me/I just need you desperately/Just want to change your mind)

the hook describes how they are no longer under duress, the man is no longer being targeted by the woman and the woman is no longer forced to force this man. (And I can breathe now...)

This is just my two cents

I completely agree with ya! This song perfectly describes a "Stalker" condition.

I thinks it is about a person who for whatever reason needs someone/is blind about a man, maybe because she is in love or whatever and andrea in this case advices her that he is not good for her.

''It's there, pretends to be a guide for you Like a candle in the dark¡'' this person is cheating on her
