Isolation Lyrics
Don't they know we're so afraid?
Isolation
We're afraid to be alone
Everybody got to have a home
Isolation
Trying to change the whole wide world
Isolation
The world is just a little town
Everybody trying to put us down
Isolation
After you've caused so much pain
But then again, you're not to blame
You're just a human, a victim of the insane
Afraid of the sun
Isolation
The sun will never disappear
But the world may not have many years
Isolation
You're just a huuuuuuuuuuman, a victim of the insaaaaaaaaaaaaaaane!
But the world may not have many years
This is one of my favorite Lennon songs. Make sure you also check out "Jealous Guy" if you like this one.
Why have only two people posted for this song?? You all should be ashamed of yourselfes! knate15 and Eatcarpet good 4 u!! This song is absolutely fabulous, I think the main idea in this song is that u'll always be alone..."I don't expect you to understand" and no one really understans anyone "People say we got it made Don't they know we're so afraid? Isolation".... "We're afraid of everyone"...
I thought the song was about John and Yoko being hounded by the public.
I love the line "After all you're just a human/A victim of the insane.'
John and Yoko being watched by the FBI. He doesn't expect anyone to understand his pain of his message of trying to help the world because the mentality of the world doesn't care.He is also saying that the sun will be here but the world ie. humans will self destuct
@tchavey yes , like the isolated feeling when hr and yoko trying to do good, make a positive impact in the world, and it just seems the majority (mob rule) just views them as crazy for their beliefs. I can imagine it feels very isolating.

If only John had lived maybe things would have changed.
nope

This is a very special song to me - relate it to the way I have felt at times - kind of isolated. It seems, I agree, that it refers to John and Yoko being isolated and hurt through being misunderstood by the press, public and other Beatles.
This is one of Roger Waters' favorate songs.Like hidden you in the shadow of the sun.
