Donde Estan los Ladrones Lyrics

Los han visto por ahí
los han visto en los tejados
dando vueltas en París
condenando en los juzgados
con la nariz empolvada
de corbata o de blue jeans
los han visto en las portadas todas
sin mas nada que decir
donde están los ladrones
donde esta el asesino
quizá allá revolcándose
en el patio del vecino
y que pasa si son ellos
y que pasa si soy yo
el que toca esta guitarra
o la que canta esta canción
la que canta esta canción
los han visto de rodillas
sentados o de cuclillas
parados dando lecciones
en todas las posiciones
predicando en las iglesias
hasta ofreciendo conciertos
los han visto en los cócteles todos
repartiendo ministerios
donde están los ladrones
donde esta el asesino
quizá allá revolcándose
en el patio del vecino
y que pasa si son ellos
y que pasa si soy yo
el que toca esta guitarra
o la que canta esta canción
la que canta esta canción

I really like this song, I heard it something more than a year ago and it didn't get out of my mind.. but I didn't know who sang it! hehe I like the lyrics too... I mean the things I understand!

I sang this in high school spanish one time. It's a catchy tune. It's really hard to sing in spanish, and Shakira is hispanic, so she's got it down. ;)

Yeah, this isn't my favorite... probably because I didn't find it terrible catchy, so I never bothered to look for a translation... what I can get out of it isn't that impressive.

A year or so before this album came out Shakira had all her luggage stolen at an airport in which she had a ton of song material. Anyway, I hear that this even inspired her to write this song. Thats just what I heard on the news years ago when this happened..

P.S. Its basically about thiefs. She's saying they are just like normal people, you see them doing everyday stuff. You can't tell just by looking at someone that they are a thief "Donde estan los ladrones?" Where are the thiefs? But don't take this song too literally. I think its also her voicing her opinion on morality and stealing, etc..
