I know, this song is beautiful.. Probably my favourite of hers, too.. I could listen to it on repeat forever. Hahaha, and I was a skeptic of her music for so long, too..
Because musically it's sweet and sad.. And lyrically, simply perfect- She's heartbroken, but she's not at a complete loss, cause she learnt how to love out of it, even if she can't no longer be with that person. Mmmhmm..
This song is truly one of my favorite oldies lol I have to say that I liked more her songs back then, but I still love her music. She's an amazing performer and a wonderful songwriter :) There are so many emotions within this song.. she's heartbroken, but still saying 'thank you'.. which shows how true love is. It shows how everything changes around us when we're in love.. Great song, indeed.

No, it's not a song of loss. Nor is she heartbroken. Sure, she's sad that he's leaving or has left; but she's content. She doesn't regret her time with him, she's thanking him for all he's done for her and taught her. And maybe, one day, they'll met again.

this is the reason i chose this screen name. i love shakira and her new music is good but her old music is THEE best. this is my favorite song by her and i think it's just that
it's how someone grows up with you and how much you learn from them and how much they've influenced you...absolutely beautiful..this quote clearly states it

I don't know... her old music IS really good... but now she shakes her ass a lot, and I would really rather watch her dance than listen to her love songs... personal preference I suppose... This song is good, though... very pretty, and I don't speak Spanish fluently, so for me to grasp the meaning and emotion of the song through the music and the few words I understand means it's a pretty honest piece of work.
