all around
i see you're under my skin
cruel to say
i've known the best of my life
never again to hear
the river's song so clear

every day's another scene
the world around and everything for you
an open door, a cauldron of waves rush in
through every house
for all
so they say another lie:
'love's a rumor but love will die'
we're lost and wandering
deep in the ocean
there lies a wave for you...
when you hit the ground it's hard to speak
but it's who you are
a shining star
go tell the millions begin!
we'll run through the fields, the turning of wheels
down with the buildings, worlds on your shoulders
climb through the wasteland
wait for the sky to remind you
these things are true...

every day's another scene
the world around and everything for you
an open door, a cauldron of waves rush in
through every house
for all
so they say another lie:
'love's a rumor but love will die'
we're lost and wandering
deep in the ocean
there lies a wave for you...
when you hit the ground it's hard to speak
but it's who you are
a shining star
go tell the millions begin!
we'll run through the fields, the turning of wheels
down with the buildings, worlds on your shoulders
climb through the wasteland
wait for the sky to remind you
these things are true...

about the day

atticusf04 - I think you've got the concept of the song completely wrong.

Instead of encouraging death, I think it's more.. encouraging life. The lines 'deep in the ocean, there lies a wave for you' means to me that no matter how terrible life can be, there will still always be someone or something out there to keep you going.. save you almost.

Then the words, 'When you hit the ground, it's hard to speak but it's who you are.. A shining star' says to me that you may have fallen down in life but you're still special and have your purpose in life, even if you don't agree.

Again, the lines 'every day's another scene' etc seems like Enigk is saying that every day will be different in some way.

Of course, I could go on forever and over-analyse every single line purely because I have listened to this song on repeat when I've been happy, sad, depressed and damn near suicide and I must say that it definitely sparks off hope in my whenever I hear this.

Whew, glad I got that out my system. ;-)

When he is speaking of love, I do not think he means it for a relationship with one other person. I feel that he is singing about love for all; love for life, love for people, and love for all the things around him.

This song is about life in general. "There is a purpose for us all," I think would be a way to translate, "there lies a wave for you."

"so they say another lie: love's a rumor, the love will die"

and maybe the waves that lie in the ocean somewhere for each os uf... are our true loves. haha cheesy, but i think it works.

this song is amazing. just like sdre... and basically everything theyve ever done. ever.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
