Hard Candy Christmas Lyrics
Hey, maybe I'll dye my hair
Maybe I'll move somewhere
Maybe I'll get a car
Maybe I'll drive so far
They'll all lose track
Me, I'll bounce right back
Maybe I'll sleep real late
Maybe I'll lose some weight
Maybe I'll clear my junk
Maybe I'll just get drunk on apple wine
Me, I'll be just
Fine and Dandy
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow bring me way down
I'll be fine and dandy
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow get me way down
Hey, maybe I'll learn to sew
Maybe I'll just lie low
Maybe I'll hit the bars
Maybe I'll count the stars until dawn
Me, I will go on
Maybe I'll settle down
Maybe I'll just leave town
Maybe I'll have some fun
Maybe I'll meet someone
And make him mine
Me, I'll be just
Fine and dandy
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting throung tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow bring me way down
I'll be fine and dandy
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow bring me way down
I'll be fine and dandy
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow bring me way down
'Cause I'll be fine
(I'll be fine)
Oh, I'll be fine
Maybe I'll move somewhere
Maybe I'll get a car
Maybe I'll drive so far
They'll all lose track
Me, I'll bounce right back
Maybe I'll lose some weight
Maybe I'll clear my junk
Maybe I'll just get drunk on apple wine
Me, I'll be just
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow bring me way down
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow get me way down
Maybe I'll just lie low
Maybe I'll hit the bars
Maybe I'll count the stars until dawn
Me, I will go on
Maybe I'll just leave town
Maybe I'll have some fun
Maybe I'll meet someone
And make him mine
Me, I'll be just
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting throung tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow bring me way down
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow bring me way down
Lord it's like a hard candy christmas
I'm barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won't let
Sorrow bring me way down
(I'll be fine)
Oh, I'll be fine

I love this song, I heard it for the first time the other day and can't get it out of my head.
I think its about a girl who was left by a guy near Christmas, and they run into each other. She's clearly saying she's gonna be ok cause she can take care of her self.
Good song
I like this song. Its not technically a "Christmas" Song but its on a CD i have. It really can be listened to at any time, because its just using a similie (sp?). I think it is pretty much about a girl who is having a hard time through break-up, but shes learning to deal with it, and do things to get her mind off it, or just change her life a little.
This song is from the movie Best Little Whore House in Texas starring Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds. In the movie, all the girls from the house (including Dolly Parton) sing it when they're business gets shut down and they have to move out of the house. A new girl sings each line about what she's going to possibly do after no longer being apart of the business. Dolly only sings the chorus.
Either way, I love this song :)
This was played during Christmas time for a couple of years back in the very late '90s-very early 2000s. I was in 4th grade the first time I heard it--so 1999. My mom said she always loved the song. I liked it a lot too. I finally got around to getting the Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers Christmas during the holidays last year, which it is included on.
The solo Dolly version far, far surpasses the version in 'Best Little Whore House'. It is simply exquisite.
I decided to watch the performance in Whore House, and was aghast. It's a silly, campy thing in the movie. I was horrified. However, I can now listen to it all year round; the scene in which it is sung does not take place during the holidays. A 'hard candy Christmas' means simply that you've fallen on hard times. I also agree with another member's interpretation. It's about thinking of ways to cheer yourself up, or things you could do to improve your life to alleviate your depression.
