There's a steel train comin' through
I would take it if I could
And I would not lie to you
because Sunday mornin' soon will come

When things will be much easier to say
Upon the microphone like a boss D.J.
But I won't walk up upon the sea like it was dry land
Boss D.J. ain't nothin' but a man
No trouble, no fuss, I know why

It's so nice, I wanna hear the same song twice
It's so nice don't wanna hear the same song twice

Rumors are spreading all over my town
But it's just stones and sticks
It's on the microphone is where I go to get my fix

Just let the lovin' take a hold 'cause it will if you let it
I'm funky not a junkie, but I know where to get it
No trouble, no fuss, I know why

It's so nice I wanna hear the same song twice
It's so nice I wanna hear the same song twice

Ooee girl
Ooee girl
Ooee girl

Ooee girl, and there really ain't no time to waste
Really ain't no time to hate
Ain't got no time to waste, time to hate
Really ain't no time to make the time go away

So Mister D.J. don't stop the music
I wanna know
Are you feelin' the same way too

I wanna rock it wih you girl
You girl, you girl, ooh
Don't stop

'Cause it's so nice I wanna hear the same song twice
It's so nice I wanna hear the same song twice

Nowadays all the songs on the radio, all
All drive me crazy

YES THESE LYRICS DEFINITLEY ARE NOT ACCURATE , BUT HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS ON THIS SONG :

If he could escape this this town, -or maybe even this life - he would. But don't worry because he will let his addiction know when it's going to be the last time he shoots up. Steel train is a referance to a long black train of death- which has been used and said to referance the to, therefore it's my assumtion that he is talking aboutdeath, and i dont think he says dry land, i think he says like it was John Lennon... (again someone who is dead...)

sunday morning will come and he can repent for his sins then, but until then he's going to live.

{I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT YES THIS SONG IS ABOUT HIS ADDICTION, YES MOST ARE, BECAUSE ADDICTION IS WHAT OVERCAME HIM, AND UNFORTUNATLEY WON. RIP BRADLEY NOWELL, BUT ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT BRAD WAS NOT SO MUCH RELIGIOUS AS HE WAS SPIRITUAL, HE BELIEVED IN A GOD AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND IF YOU LISTEN TO MOST OF HIS MUSIC, HE MENTIONS THE LORD AND GOD IN QUITE A FEW OF HIS SONGS..} Anyways back on track...sorry (:

"When I would walk upon the sea like it was dry land The boss DJ ain't nothin' but a man" ^ He will stand tall when this addiction is beat, because "boss d.j" aka his addiction ain't shit and he can and will overcome this (with no trouble or no fuss)

...Unfortunatley I am an addict too so i can relate to subliminal messages on addiction and understand what is being said, and to me this part: "It's so nice, I want to hear the same song twice, It's so nice don't want to hear the same song twice" ^This is like his mental battle with addiction and this first line ITS SO NICE I WANT TO (its like a mental battle inside of thinkning you can handle your addiction (usually you think that your addiction is not bad when you are high, BUT when you aren't doped up you actually realize you do need help) "Rumors are spreading all over my town But it's just stones and sticks, Upon the microphone is where I go to get my fix" ^People are talking shit and if you want to listen to it you can but its not true and it doesnt hurt my feelings (sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me) the only place i get any kind of "fix" is on the microphone

"Ima funkie not a junkie but i know where to get it" ^ self explanitory . he is not a junkie but keep fucking with me i do know where to get it...

"So mister DJ don't stop the music, I want to know, Are you feelin' the same way too?" ^ (Brad talking to his addiction: I dont want to stop feeling good (aka I dont want to withdrawl but i want to still feel good, but deep down inside do i think im out of control with this addiction?

"Nowadays all the songs on the radio, They all, All drive me crazy " ^ this could be a number of things, one theory is the radio is current and up to date with stuff and i dont like knowing what is really going on now in my life, so ill listen to sometihng that i like that doesnt exactly remind me of whats going on and can take me back to a time where life was good and easy. ^another theory could be that THIS IS HOW BRAD REALLY FEELS AND THERE IS NO MEANING TO THIS LAST LINE...

THANK YOU GUYS VERY MUCH FOR READING THIS AND I AM DYING TO KNOW WHAT EVERYONE THINKS...GOOD OR BAD...WANT TO GET YOU ALLS FEEL ON THIS...AGAIN THANK YOU. AND AS ALWAYS

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
