You haven't seen the world outside for days
You sleep, you hope, you wait
Imagination disappears
And all the dreams you have you save
Confrontation like a mirror
They try to take your mind away

I don't know, but I believe in yesterday
And what it means
To bleed and know that you're okay

Are you waiting?
No matter what you say
No matter what you do
No matter what, I'm always right there behind you [Repeat x2]

Bombarded by the atmosphere
You breath, you choke, you breath again
Conversation disappears
You realize they're not your friends
The panic of the future rears
You dig, you jerk
You find another way

I don't know, but I believe in yesterday
And what it means
To bleed and know that you're okay

Are you waiting?
No matter what you say
No matter what you do
No matter what, I'm always right there behind you
No matter what you say
No matter what you do
No matter what, I'm always right there behind you

You open up my veins now I don't feel the same
No no no
You open up my brain but I won't be replaced

No matter what you say
No matter what you do
No matter what I'm always right there behind you

I think this song is about caring for someone so much that no matter what they do, you will always be there to help them in their time of need

I think this song is about best friends always being there for each other...and realizing who's your friends in the end, and who was never there for you in the first place

I heard that Raine wrote this song after Jeremy had been mugged. I don't know what that has to do with the song, but whatever.

I just saw OLP live last week when they came to Salt Lake City and heard them perform this song, it was so great. Everyone in the audience could relate to it because at some point in our pathetic lives, we have to be there for someone.

Actually, the song is more specific than that. Its about knowing someone who is in a bad way

"You haven't seen the world outside for days You sleep you hope "

When someone is in this state, its usually because of something more than your everyday problems.

This song is more about having a close friend who is in a difficult situation and standing by that friend until the end giving them all the support you possibly can.

This song is deeper than just having a best friend.

Raine's always insisted on having the fans make their own interpretations on the songs that he writes, so defective maybe right, and the song may not be as deep as you think. Or you could be right. You never know.

Anyways, this song is one of my favourites on the Spiritual Machienes album. It's always made me feel better when I'm down. All I need is this song to make myself feel better.

lol...this song is not about computers. Thats just the little inserts on this cd. Well...I think this song is about standing beside your friends when they are in bad situtions, say something like being addicted to drugs or such and not giving up on them.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
