Get Right With Me Lyrics
I will have faith in man
That is hard to understand
Show some humility
You have the ability
Get right with me
Friends, if you've lost your way
You will find it again some day
Come down from your pedestals
And open your mouths that's all
Get right with me
Life is such a short thing
That I cannot comprehend
But if this life were a bought thing
There are ways I know we'd mend
People, take my advice
Already told you once, once or twice
Don't waste your energy
Making apologies
Get right with me

I like that this song is a “come to Jesus” message with a gospel backing chorus. Then it’s punctuated with the clanging sort of industrial sounds that are legacy Depeche Mode.
I agree with most interpretations here, it’s not a murky song. Get your affairs in order. Give and receive forgiveness. Life’s too important to harbor resentments or petty recriminations.
Life is too short to argue, and making amends is easy - you just have to apologize for all you have done wrong. That's what this song is about.
For me the most poignant part of this track is
"Life is such a short thing That I cannot comprehend But if this life were a bought thing There are ways I know we'd mend"
It's alluding to the fact that most of attach a monetry value to 'things' and if we did the same regarding our lives we would probably value it much more and do things differently. Great track
Remain open about other people's mistakes but don't take their word as a guarantee to change and correct their past mistakes, rather look at their attitude and actions to determine whether if they truly deserve forgiveness or not.
