Seems to me like Shannon was possibly trying to get the message out that he was sick of his addiction and wanted to kick his habit(s), and when each of us think we're at our strongest, it's really when we are most vulnerable to be swayed into other traps and snares. Great song,though. My personal 2nd best unreleased Blind Melon tune, besides 'what you lost'. We all lost a great voice/lyricist with the loss of Shannon.
