It's the dawn of a new time
where all the walls are going down.
The smiles of grace are wiped away
and the [?] and all is found.
You're a stranger.

It's getting cold for the springtime.
I feel like the winter never ends.
But if we turn our faces from the coldness
then the truth can simply blow all around.

Day by day I grow stronger,
and day by day I'm more a stranger.
I'm sitting here waiting for you,
I'm sitting here waiting for you,
I'm sitting here waiting for you to leave.
Well I'm sitting here waiting for you to leave.

Now that the walls are not between us
and all that's said is all that's done
There's no more mess [... ? ...]

Day by day I grow stronger,
and day by day I'm more a stranger.
I'm sitting here waiting for you,
I'm sitting here waiting for you,
I'm sitting here waiting for you to leave.
Well I'm sitting here waiting for you to leave.

General CommentSeems to me like Shannon was possibly trying to get the message out that he was sick of his addiction and wanted to kick his habit(s), and when each of us think we're at our strongest, it's really when we are most vulnerable to be swayed into other traps and snares. Great song, though. My personal 2nd best unreleased Blind Melon tune, besides 'what you lost'. We all lost a great voice/lyricist with the loss of Shannon.
