This is the only HIM song that I really don't like. I don't know why but it almost sounds like it's being sung by William Hung...maybe it was recorded when Ville's english wasn't quite up to par?
I guess... It didnt really sound like Ville to me either....Recorded back in the mid/late 1990s, I think 1997....
But i really enjoy the song. Just the old hard rock sound of HIM, compared to their latest music that is just sorta...Soft Rock/Pop...But i like how it slows down toward the end...Then starts back off in a kickass way...
Great song, and this is probably wrong, but just from hearing and listening to the lyrics, when Ville says - "Cant you see HE is the heartless.." just sounds like he is telling some girl that another guy is the heartless, like maybe it is a warning for that girl...IDK
yeah i agree.. this song is mainly about ville warning the girl that whoever she's dating is the heartless and that she should be with him instead...that's how i understood it... it's an ok song that really doesn't get alot of credit but i like it because of its funky beat.. lol

I took it to go a little deeper than that. It's not that he's 'The Heartless' and that he doesn't love, but he's causing her physical pain as well as emotional. "Your pain is not love He's taking it too far Don't you know it is wrong" That line 'He's taking it too far' it just leads me to believe that he's causing her so much more pain than what she should be going through.
Personally this is one of my favourite HIM songs. The way I see it is the girl is with a guy that treats her badly, but she convinces herself she is in love with him anyway. Maybe there is a reason she can't leave him, even though she probably should. She has convinced herself that it is love so badly that she can't see how badly she is treated and how far away from love their relationship is and always will be. But Ville sees it and he realises what a 'one of a kind' girl she is and she does not deserve to be treated like that. I think he is trying to tell her that she is in a bad relationship and he could treat her much better and show her what real love is.
It's about abuse
This song relates to me a little because my friend is dating this guy that always ditches her and never embraces their love. Then the guy sweet talks her and the girl doesn't give up. The only way I don't relate to this song is that I don't love the girl. Great song.
This song is like a breath of fresh air. I love listening to it at dusk for some reason haha. One of my favorite HIM songs.
