You gave me this
You made me give
Your silver grin
Still sticking it in

You have soul machine
Soul machine

The longest kiss
Peeling furniture days
Drift madly to you
Pollute my heart drain

You have broken at me
Broken me
All your mental armor drags me down
Nothing hurts like your mouth mouth mouth

Your loaded smiles
Pretty just desserts
Wish it all for you
So much it never hurts

You have soul machine
Stolen me
All your mental armor drags me down
We can't breathe when you come around
All your mental armor drags me down
Nothing hurts like your mouth mouth mouth
Your mouth mouth mouth
Your mouth mouth mouth

We've been missing long before
Never found our way home
We've been missing long before
Where we'll find our way

You gave me this
Made me give
You have soul machine
Broken free
All your mental armor drags me down
We can't breathe when you come around
All your mental armor drags me down
Nothing hurts like your mouth mouth mouth
Your mouth mouth mouth
Your mouth mouth mouth
All your mental armor
All your mental armor
And your mouth
Mouth

    My Interpretation

This is clearly about Heroin addiction. Thats what I get from it, because I've been through it. I will try to go line by line with my interpretation of it.

You gave me this (Talking to Heroin. You gave me this sickness) You made me give (You made me give away all of me, due to your grip on me) Your silver grin (The silver tip of the needle) Still sticking it in (still sticking in my arm)

You have some machine Some machine (You are incredibly powerful, you take over me)

The longest kiss (the longest intense relationship was with his addiction) Peeling furniture days (life is boring, loathsome, lonely without ir Drift madly to you (I come back to you) Pollute my heart drain ( to pollute my veins again)

You have broken at me Broken me All your mental armor drags me down (you have a power that I can't shake) Nothing hurts like your mouth mouth mouth (im thinking mouth is the needle. Not a physical hurt, but psychological hurt)

Your loaded smiles (the loaded needle) Pretty just desserts (so satisfying) Wish it all for you ( So much it never hurts ...hoping that its a big enough dose to kill him, so the pain could finally end?)

You have Some machine Stolen me (He is no longer himself, controlled by the drug) All your mental armor drags me down We can't breathe when you come around All your mental armor drags me down Nothing hurts like your mouth mouth mouth Your mouth mouth mouth Your mouth mouth mouth

We've been missing long before Never found our way home We've been missing long before Where we'll find our way (Been missing from life for so long, when will it end? but he has hope it will end)

You gave me this Made me give You have Some machine Broken free (He is now free from the grip of the drug) All your mental armor drags me down We can't breathe when you come around All your mental armor drags me down Nothing hurts like your mouth mouth mouth Your mouth mouth mouth Your mouth mouth mouth All your mental armor All your mental armor And your mouth Mouth

I wish I knew the true meaning, but all I get out of it is that sheild some people have blocking people so they won't get hurt, drags the author down, and depresses him. And nothing hurts like her telling him she can't completely trust him.

I think it is about a girlfriend or something like that saying mean or harmful things to him. She is dragging him down to depression.

I love it when he sings "You have brokern me, broken me" Strong emotion. It kinda reminds me of when my boyfriend would be defensive around me because he didnt want to get hurt by showing his feelings, and I'd feel sad by that. "All your metal armour drags me down" And one day he said he didnt believe I ever loved him (after around a year). "Nothing hurts like your mouth" and then I felt like he had "broken me" because I was so in love with him and he didnt seem to notice how much.

I love the phrase "All your mental armour drags me down" I think that it can relate to so many things. I never thought of it the way "Damelloman24" does. But I can definitely see it like that. The way it says "We can't breathe when we come around" has a definite significance, it's not like he said, I can't breathe when you come around, he is including himself, it's like, with her, he is a different person..

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
