Get on the Snake Lyrics

Get on the snake
With a swarm of motor flies
Get on the snake
Under the Cola colored sky

Don't worry, everything's clean
Road worthy, hungry and mean

Get on the snake
Where the metal river bleeds
Get on the snake
Where you never will believe
Hey baby, what's your disease
My heart's bleeding
I'm dying to leave

Get on the snake
Where the water turns to steam
Get on the snake
With a suicide machine

Don't worry, everything's clean
Road worthy, hungry and mean
Hungry and mean...
Hungry and mean...

I don't think this song is sexual at all... I think its about the freeway system in the US and its pollution... I think Chris is expressing his disdain or skepticism of our freeway/car dominated culture...

the snake is the freeway

motor flies are cars

the cola colored sky is air pollution

metal river is a line of cars

suicide machine is a car... it can kill you in a crash or perhaps our species as a whole if ari polution gets out of control

At first, I was confused that this was on the same album as "Big Dumb Sex", but the more I thought about it, the more I figured it's just a metaphor for peer pressure in general, and encouraging people to get involved in things they shouldn't ("get on the snake, everyone else is doing it", etc). It could also be another, subtler jab at butt rock, with the way that everyone's dirty mind thinks the title is a double-entendre at first glance, but the actual meaning is different.

"Get on the snake with a suicide machine?"

WHAT?!

@The Honest Liar do something bad, go ahead - see what happens to your conscience and your morality and your guilt over time. go ahead. it will eat you alive, possibly to the point of severe severe depression or even suicide as time warps forward and your regret grows. go ahead, do it. see what happens to you down the road. that's my interpretation of this lyric

My guess is that this song is about the fear of joining a gang. (motorcycle gang)

"Get on the snake with a swarm of motor flies, get on the snake under the cola-colored sky." -Join a gang that is badly viewed by others and is dark. (cola-colored)

"Don't worry, everything's clean, road worthy, hungry and mean." -The person gets worried and the gang says: it's fine, we won't get caught and someone has to do this job.

"Get on the snake where the metal river bleeds, Get on the snake where you never will believe, Hey baby, what's your disease? My heart's bleeding I'm dying to leave." -He sees destruction and death like he'd never believe and his heart and mind are through. (guess the disease and STD thing was to add filth?)

"Get on the snake where the water turns to steam, Get on the snake with a suicide machine." -He sees that the gang turns something that gives (water) into little or nothing. (steam) He also finds out gangs gain and loose members from death. (suicide machine)

"Don't worry, everything's clean road worthy, hungry and mean hungry and mean... hungry and mean..." -He leaves and realizes that the clean and worthy parts only look good in evil eyes. I guess the repetition of hungry and mean shows that it's the most of it.

Thanks for reading.

It's Chrisses favorite pickup song. "hey baby, get on the snake, you know what I'm talking 'bout?" And when he sees they have some STD he's like "hey baby, what's your disease? I'm dying to leave - bye" he he he he he

The lyrics are obviously talking about coercing someone into something.

As far as to what, it could be anything. Drugs, sex, crime, etc.

I would prob say sex on this one.
