How many special people change?
How many lives are livin' strange?
Where were you while we were getting high?
Slowly walkin' down the hall
Faster than a cannonball
Where were you while we were getting high?

Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova in the sky

Wake up the dawn and ask her why
A dreamer dreams she never dies
Wipe that tear away now from your eye
Slowly walkin' down the hall
Faster than a cannonball
Where were you while we were getting high?

Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova

'Cause people believe
That they're gonna get away for the summer
But you and I, we live and die
The world's still spinnin' 'round, we don't know why
Why, why, why, why

How many special people change?
How many lives are livin' strange?
Where were you while we were getting high?
Slowly walkin' down the hall
Faster than a cannonball
Where were you while we were getting high?

Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky
Someday you will find me
Caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova
A champagne supernova

'Cause people believe
That they're gonna get away for the summer
But you and I, we live and die
The world's still spinnin' 'round, we don't know why
Why, why, why, why

Na, na, na
Na, na
Na, na
Na, na, na
Na, na
Na, na
Na, na
Na, na
Na, na, na

How many special people change?
How many lives are livin' strange?
Where were you while we were getting high?
We were getting high
We were getting high
We were getting high
We were getting high
We were getting high
We were getting high
We were getting high
We were getting high
We were getting high

    My Interpretation

I have been thinking about its interpretation since this song was released. Here are my two-cents about it: \n\n"How many special people change?\nHow many lives are livin\' strange?\nWhere were you while we were getting high?"\n\n\nSpecial people (important people in life or famous people of the world) born, loose their importance and fame, die ... and many people just life an unknown life- never be able to get special. \n\nProtagonist is then asking a question to those non-special people (may be his friend which is now a stranger to him) that why they didn\'t effort and joined when they were getting famous or becoming special in life or enjoying their life. \n\n\n"Slowly walkin\' down the hall,\nFaster than a cannonball\nWhere were you while we were getting high?"\n\nLife seems to move slowly - a day by day count. But time really move fast - like a cannon ball. It like people say that an year is passed so fast and they didn\'t notice, time is flying. \n\nHe means that non-special/ estranged people didn\'t catch with them and time passed very fast.\n\n \n\n"Someday you will find me\nCaught beneath the landslide\nIn a champagne supernova in the sky"\n\nSomeday, the protagonist will die and laid to rest in the ground (caught in landslide), and there will be buzz all around about news of his death. Like when a star dies, it blasts into a supernova which lit up the sky and pronounce its death. \n\n(We may have noticed that when a person die, he/she get famous among the people interacted in life for few days) \n\nSo, time move very fast and soon everyone will die.\n\nNow, final verse:\n\n \n"\'Cause people believe,\nThat they\'re gonna get away for the summer,\nBut you and I, we live and die,\nThe world\'s still spinnin\' \'round, we don\'t know why\nWhy, why, why, why"\n\n\n\npeople don\'t remember that life is fragile, they can die any time... (they think they will live and see the next summer but it may not be true). \n\nNo matter if we live a special or ordinary life, we die in the end and people tend to forget us (as world continue to spin) and life goes on.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
