Bag and drag are referring to buying and smoking weed. The sun coming up is the youth of this person where the loneliness could be maintained, but it's not easy, and all he can do is mull over his thoughts since he doesn't have friends. Eventually the sun goes down and the tide comes in. This is his life now where it is darker, and he feels overwhelmed. His home, which is his pipe, is in his hand at the end of the day. It's the only thing that matters to him and is the only thing he can depend on.

@PlateOfShrimp You're wrong, it's about Glueheads as the title suggests, the punks who whose to sniff glue to get high. Often seen in the 80s, at least in UK. Maybe it was also in USA, seems so. The bag refers to the gluebag.

It is about addiction but I thought the "drug" he was referring to was airplane glue put into a bag and huffed. Makes sense with the "bag" and the title
this is little more than a stab in the dark, but it seems to be about a man's addiction to drugs. in the end of the song, he starts getting really fucked up. "you are my everyone..." he's become hopelessly fixated on it. that's my best guess.

Definitely about drub addiction. However, I don't think the "glue" part should be taken literally. The bag could relate to many different drugs. As an addict he is stuck in a rut, he is the "glue man".
@thecrikster It's literally about a glue sniffer. A lot of punks used to sniff glue in the 80s. It was present and a trend at festivals etc. Of course you can apply it to other addictions as well.
