Man of Action Lyrics

(You are now listening to the Audio of Being)

Between the night and day
Lost in the law of averages
What would you know
Unless you'd lived a life of it?

They say the kid sold out,
In love with himself run ragged,
Always looked to be a man of action
Cause that's what the old man
Should have been but
This world it wore him out
This world it wears you out

I dissapeared today
I went under
If only for a second
And I found where the light drown
If you lay down you can dissapear
Altogether

I got me a whore head
I got me a day star
I lost me control of myself
And baby I don't want it back
No I don't want to be like that
If this is us in control of ourselves

Between the night and day
And so few eyes left open
Your forgiveness ain't a neighborhood
That I'm looking to live in
Maybe this world it wore me out

This song is about the slight depression that comes from repetition and the feeling of no progress. But you keep going anyway... because of the probability of the outcome you want happening the next time. You stay determined. You stay strong... but in the back of your head you know that even the next time... whatever you're trying to accomplish may not happen still. It's about having faith in the action.

This song is great, like everyone of their songs are. This is a great way to start off audio of being. It is a shame that MGB doesn't have any hits in the US, and i have to pay an extra 10-20 dollars on cd's cause they are imports, but mgb is my favorite band

Even though i have a hard time getting a set meaning to this song I can always seem to relate to everyone of his songs, especially this one. But to me this song is basically describing how "This world wears you out" and even though he had a number of things going for him things still go to hell whether their to his own faults or not, usually it's a bit of both

This is probably the best introduction to an album ever made. This song makes you want to be a man of action. It makes you want to do something. I think this song is actually about Shakespeare's Hamlet. Do you see why?
