I think this song is about someone needing to be comforted, but not having anyone helping him, so he finds something that sooths him when nothing else will.

Yes the China thing does makes sense but I think this song is just about too many or hanging out with boys in general. 'Blue star shine your light' - blue is always colour associated with boys (pink for girls). All blue, no pink. 'Sooth me... Tear lung". If he's hanging out with all boys at least he's not stressing out about girls or fighting with his gf he's just chilling with his buddies. Also what do guys do when they get together? They smoke (and drink), whether it be tobacco, marijuana etc. and I think that's where the 'Tear lung' lyrics come from. Did anyone else think that??

why has nobody commented on this?? This is a typical example of Chino's more pensive lyrics. It's about someone something helping you through stuff when nothing else can.

i think this is about someone dying and looking to the sky hoping that someone or something out there can help them. chino writes a lot about things to do with the lung or lungs, and i think this is his way of addressing the ideas surrounding life and death.

I think its some teen guy who got his heart broken looking up to the sky thinking about how he fucked up his relationship with a girl wishing he could fix up his life.

Chino always rights about lungs maybe becuase every one always sias heart, and he dosnt want to sound like a vag. Lungs sounds cooler and if you are ripping out someone heart u have to go through the lungs first.

I really don't know what he is talking about in this one, but it is an excellent Deftones song if you haven't heard it.

I think Chino leaves his lyrics open for interpretation. They have a meaning to him, and then, the meaning for the listener can be totally opposite. Either way, Deftones rock and I love this song. It means a lot to me because i have one tattoo and it is a blue star on my foot. The tat has a special mening, almost the same as this song.

i love deftones and chino but sometimes after reading this it makes me think does half of this shit really mean something? cuz i can write shit like this all the time, and people can take it one way, when its just a bunch of thoughts in my head. oh well, maybe thats why no one has commented on this, cuz there isnt really a defined meaning

It really is songs with lyrics and titles like these that make the Deftones so interestingly unique. The fact that their lyrics arent easy to define and understand. Truly what makes the Deftones my favorite band is the fact that the music can be taken into thought and concluded in meaning to what the specific individual fan wants it to be. Bravo Deftones.

P.S. - I have no clue what this song is about but I love it!!!
