Private Ale Lyrics
I wonder down the streets all by myself
Think of my future now
I just dont know
I dont seem to care
I stop to notice that im by your home
Wonder if your sitting all alone
Or is your boyfriend there?
Because i feel so right
Let my imagination go
Until you're in my sight
And through my veins temptation flows
So i sit down here on the hard concrete
Think of my future now
I just dont know
I dont seem to care
So i sit across the street from your home
Wonder if your sitting all alone
Or is your boyfriend there?
Think of my future now
I just dont know
I dont seem to care
I stop to notice that im by your home
Wonder if your sitting all alone
Or is your boyfriend there?
Let my imagination go
Until you're in my sight
And through my veins temptation flows
Think of my future now
I just dont know
I dont seem to care
So i sit across the street from your home
Wonder if your sitting all alone
Or is your boyfriend there?

the lyrics to this song are so simple but i love them. i think its about someone he likes but she has a boyfriend so he cant really do anything about it except use his imagination. im in the exact same position right now. all the older green day songs are so easy to relate to..
yup, i agree. basically ur right. all old green day songs are easier to relate to because back then they were more my age, im 16 now, so obviously the song '16' i will be able to relate to and so will older ppl.
Actually, Green Day, all of their songs, are relatable at any age. Take Insomniac, that whole album is about being somewhat pissed off, and correct me if I am wrong, but isn't everyone pissed off at some point? The only difference between new Green Day and old is that the newer songs are relatable on more then just the outer shell of emotions.
Actually I think Billy Joe wrote this song for his wife, he wrote the song because he wanter her to like him.
In the very beginning of the song, theres a few guitar licks that sound very similar to those in 1,000 Hours. It almost seems that this song somewhat of a continuation of 1,000 Hours.
Back on their albums on lookout! their lyrics were easier to relate too, but a lot less sophisticated and they generally seemed to revolve around Mr Armstrong's lady friends or just plain apathetic boredom.
why is it that no one ever writes for any of the good songs that came out before dookie like "at the library" or "dissapearing boy" or "dry ice"
the song to me is about a guy that has a crush on this gal but she has a boyfriend so the only way is to use his imagination. about every song of green day there is something that i can relate to which is one of the reasons i love their music.

I have asked this before (under Android), but what the hell is with that voice in the middle
