there is no use to call people morons... like any piece of art, once it is made public, given away, sold, played, aired, hung, shown, etc... its not about what the artist intended it to mean anymore. I feel, like some others may, that what is more important is the message and feelings that the art brings about in someone, or many people. people misconstrue lyrics all of the time. there is no need to belittle anyone or their ideas/ interpretations.

I have had this happen, I played the nice guy act and shit. But she went and got hurt over and over, and after awhile I quit trying, because she never noticed, and never will.
This song is basically what I'm going through right now. A girl has a fear of getting hurt because she's had a bad experience in the past. The guy wants her to be his, and is trying as hard as he can to make her happy and let her know that he's not going to hurt her.
The meaning of this song is so obvious. It's obviously about a girl who has been hurt before, and some guy wants her and he's trying to get it to her that he isn't going to do anything that will make her upset or hurt her.
The chorus makes me think of Billie adopting someone. Someone who got abused in his/her previous house and has been put up for adoption. SO now billie wants to take him/her in, but the kid is too scared they'll get hurt again
