Almost There Lyrics
At least in my dreams
When I'm sleeping
It seems that the needle is full endlessly
But you keep on waking me
I'm almost there
It's on the tip of my tongue
And it never goes away
It never comes to stay
The chances are slight
That I won't shoot up tonight
But the sensation that's waiting beneath
Is a kick in the teeth

heroine addiction... definitely
I love this song.. it was always my favorite on Whole. I always wanted to shoot a video for this song, where a scared/timid looking David is driving his car singing the regular part while a scarey/aggressive David is sitting next to him screaming in his face during the parts that are screamed. The timid David blinks and tries not to look at the mean David. It's this whole duality concept I have in this song--it comes with all addictions. you have the hungry aggressive side that says more, more more, then you have the scared side who wants out.
awesome. i actually pictured that too juan. (yeah right) its an absolutely wonderful song. great sleep music. for an insomniac.
this is a really great song. the screams really add to it. whoever is screaming does a really good job...it almost sounds like they are crying or sobbing. the lyrics are really scary. "and it never goes away / it never comes to stay" it almost seems like battling an invisible enemy or something like that. i wonder if this is autobiographical or not. anyone have an answer to that?
this is definitely my new favorite pedro the lion song.
the backup vocals are amazing. the song makes me cry everytime i listen to it.

juan the owl, i wonder who you are named after. I like your name. what a great song by the master of lyrics david bazan. round of applause everybody. he just completely captures the idea of being a heroin addict, but its still so damn beautiful! how is he not being awarded for these masterpieces, i think he is this centuries greatest genious. somebody give him a medal
