Friedman said in 2002: "When I finished the solo to this one, Mustaine came into the studio, listened to it down once, turned around and without saying a word, shook my hand. About the song yea its about a relationship a breakup and its the best song ever written and performed by megadeth its just the best song in the world badass solo and the drumline just kicks ass man those are some badass drums.. Man I wish marty Friedman and nick Menza were still in the band

This song is about someone breaking up with their partner, only to kill them through regret.
Megadeths second best song. Probably Friedmans best solo though.
Love the solo, came to read the lyrics. Personally it sounds like the song is about breaking up with someone moving away and finding someone else, only to inevitably break up with them for the same reasons.
"Tornado of souls" quite fitting metaphor if you think about it. The storm of soul searching finding the one. Starting in the eye, soo peaceful then you drift to the edges and get blown away.
