Two Beds And A Coffee Machine Lyrics

And she takes another step
Slowly she opens the door
Check that he is sleeping
Pick up all the broken glass
And furniture on the floor
Been up half the night screaming
Now it's time to get away
Pack up the kids in the car
Another bruise to try and hide
Another alibi to write
Another lonely highway
In the black of night

Another ditch in the road
You keep moving
Another stop sign
You keep moving on
And the years go by so fast
Wonder how I ever made it through

And there are children to think of
Baby's asleep in the back seat
Wonder how they'll ever make it
Through this living nightmare
But the mind is an amazing thing
Full of candy dreams and new toys
And another cheap hotel
Two beds and a coffee machine
But there are groceries to buy
And she knows she'll have to go home

Another ditch in the road
You keep moving
Another stop sign
You keep moving on
And the years go by so fast
Wonder how I ever made it through

Another bruise to try and hide
Another alibi to write
Another lonely highway in the black of the night
There's hope in the darkness
I know you're gonna make it

Another ditch in the road
You keep moving
Another stop sign
You keep moving on
And the years go by so fast
Silent fortress built to last
Wonder how I ever made it through

This song saddens me so much....because it tells of something that unfortunately exists all too commonly: domestic violence. I had a friend who would cry silently every time she heard the song...her former boyfriend is now in jail because of how he assaulted her physically and sexually. But this is a very deep song, the peaceful music belies the darkness of the lyrics' implications.

This song is pretty self-explanatory. It's about a woman who is in an abusive relationship. She has run away with her children and must form complex stories about her life so nothing will happen. This song also is kind of a "push" to keep her going. The title refers to a hotel room they must stay in with two beds and a coffee machine.

Its weird because the meaning of this song is clear, tlking about violence and the effect of it and how a women deals with it, but i believe it just means come on you can get through this, it is really powerful and that no matter what keep ur head up because good times will come, but i believe this duo where amazing and they captured so much in their lyrics and its one albumn that i i can listen to and not skip tracks because all their work is formidable!:P:)

Man, this is a powerful song, but not in an aggresive way, ya know? The lyrics are basically speaking about reality. & Daniel on the piano is wonderful.

This song is a good song with really deep meaning. A great song to listen to when you are down or depressed.

This piece of music is so melodically perfect, you would think that it was written by the muse of music itself. This group knows how to use a soulful melody and put a haunting harmony to the background.

I think it's about something he went through as a child. Still it's a beautiful song.
