Black is a cast
And two is a crowd
And gold rim is an answer
And black is a crowd
I am just for you
As you are not for me

So even if you stop
Your sitting here by yourself
You could never try to answer anyone
You could never start and see
What you're doing to me

Kiss oh, they were the ones
And dressed
Like something so special
And death is to begin
Caress I think it's a sin
I was alone
Until you took me away

You could never stop
Your sitting here by yourself
You could never try to argue anyone
You would never stop and see
What you're doing to me

Oh, I'm alone
While they were standing
Next to you
And days were long
And there was time
Just you wait and see

Waiting for a bottle of truth
I'm just a lonely guy
In my youth
And waiting for you
It's all I want to do

You could never stop
You sitting all by yourself
You could never try to answer anything
You will never stop and see
What's you're doing to me

Oh, what you're doing to me
Oh, what you're doing to me
Oh, what are you doing to me?
Oh, yeah ooh

This song seems to be about how a guy likes this girl and he thinks that he would be good for her but doesnt have the guts to talk to her. Also he seems to blame her for not coming to him.

i think he is saying "so even if you stop your sitting here by yourself you could never try to answer anyone you could never stop and see what your doing to me..." And he says "All alone, while he was standing next to you" i think.

as far as meaning goes - there is something between these two, but the girl has some other guy maybe or some other interest...hence the "all alone (or im alone) while he was standing next to you.." part. and pete says "ill wait for you" but he doesnt think she takes the time to realize how she is hurting him, by leading him on or dragging this out. And that "what are you doing to me? ahh yeah, yeah... whoooooahhh" is so powerfull. That note he sings at the end is just him 'running out of words' and just letting his pain out in a wail. i love that part.

the part about "waiting for a bottle of truth" and "waiting for you is all i want to do" i think refers to how he is waiting for the girl to present her true self, maybe which is a person that shows love towards Pete. I think Pete shares some feelings that everyone, both men and women, have when he mentions "waiting for a bottle of truth". Everyone in life wants something that is true and pure, and that is what Pete is waiting for in the girl--he is waiting for the pure and truthful side of her.----Maybe?

well, my take is that, he liked a girl. and that girl had or liked someone else. and i guess, theyve been friends for a while. or at least, known each other. and she just doesnt realise how much he liked/loved her. she might like him too, cause i think theres flirtation between them, "... kiss, ... caress". oh well, thats what i think. you know what, Pete Yorn is the man! hahaha. :-D

I always think that maybe Kiss is sort of one of those play bits. He's wanting to be kissed, yet he diverts intention by going on about the Band instead.

this song means exactly what ive been through with a guy

the girl obviously led him on.. he gave her his everything, she led him on, he thought they might be going somewhere.. gave her real kisses.. but in the end she thought it was just for fun.. or at least said it was. he was lonely... fell for her.. and she never realized what she was doing to him. he is willing to wait for her.. bc he doesnt want to give up on somthing that he had really believed in.

I think the waiting for a bottle of truth is saying, I am waiting until I am drunk enough to actually tell you how I feel

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
