The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter Lyrics
and i'll march slowly and i'll never forget how the music stopped or the feel of your breath... (4x)
the muscle and blood, they keep my body warm, still my mind is cold. to know what's fair is not always fair, what proves real will never flee.
and i'll march slowly and i'll never forget how that black dress fell upon your white neck. grand aisle, best white this time of year, and i know you will be leaving soon, my dear.

geeze this is a good song and no 1 says ne thing about it

This is my favorite anniversary song on the old album. It is really amazing and the words are one of a kind. The anniversary owns.

This song owns live.

the anniversary. enough said

It would have been nice to exercise some kind of spacing and punctuation. Also, it's: "The flesh and the blood," Not the muscle and blood.

The Anniversary wrote this song based on the novel The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers.
Short Description fo the book (from DooYoo books): Set in the American South, this is the story of a group of people who appear to have little in common except they are all hopelessly lonely. A young girl, a drunken socialist and a black doctor are drawn to a gentle, sympathetic deaf mute, John Singer, whose presence changes their lives.

you really have to read the book to understand the song... i don't really think that a description of the book could do much, but you can go ahead and try.

Great Opening song, to me one of the greatest albums ever made. Sequencing, Song writing, Vocals. Etc its all there. Not even my favorite band, but this cd is simply a masterpiece. It deserves to mentioned in the same light as O.K. Computer

"Fear makes friends with joy"- Great Line.

really good song. i might have to read the book now
