Temptation Waits Lyrics
i'll tell you something,i am a wolf but
i like to wear sheep's clothings
i am a bonfire, i am a vampire
i'm waiting for my moment
you come on like a drug,i just can't get enogh
i'm like an addict coming at you for a little more
and there's so much at stake, i can't afford to waste
i never needed anybody like this before
i'll tell you something, i'am a damon
some say my biggest weackness
i have my reasons, call it my defense
be careful what you're whishing
you come on like a drug, i just can't get enough
i'm like an addict coming at you for a little more
and there's so much at stake, i can't afforde to waste
i never needed anybody like this before
you are a secret, a new possession
i like to keep you guessing
you come on like a drug,i just can't get enough......
when i'm not sure what i'm living for
( when i'm not sure who i am)
when i'm not sure what i'm looking for
(when i'm not surewho i am)
i like to wear sheep's clothings
i am a bonfire, i am a vampire
i'm waiting for my moment
you come on like a drug,i just can't get enogh
i'm like an addict coming at you for a little more
and there's so much at stake, i can't afford to waste

This is incredible song, done so well by Shirley as always. It was performed on Buffy, and by the lyrics it's clear that it's the perfect song for a supernaturally themed show.
She's a bit lost about her purposes for her own life, then she finds this interesting guy and he seems to be everything that she always wanted for fulfilling the emptiness of her life. And now she is dangerously in love with this guy but he doesn't yet seem to realize how 'wild' she is. And she intends to take this obsession to the last consequences. She's ready to make many insane things with him in the bed and she practically will swallow him with her wolflike mouth and her vampirish teeth...
this is my favorite garbage song. this is how i felt at the beginning of my relationship, when i didn't really know my boy, but i felt really addicted to him, and wanted to see and know and be with him as much as i could.
this song is about finding ones identity as a sugnifigant other has seemed to turn Shirley life so upside down that they have lost it
I just got it on the Buffy soundtrack.
And oh, wow. It's about putting on an exterior because you have no idea who you really are in some respect.
I dont know who she wrote this song about : if anybody. I do know Id be afraid to be the one she was after, her love speech seems more like an obsession that will completely devastate her. Seems like the only way this relationship would end is badly, and on her part, possibly suicide.
I agree with zythe - it's about putting on a mask in public, one that conceals who you really are.
And this is my interpretation of the song: It's about their individual sexual orientation.
They're not sure which gender they are attracted to, not sure if they're straight, gay, or bi ("When I'm not sure what I'm looking for)."

Though it comes across obviously about an addictive and craving relationship, it also sounds like a badass woman power song lol
Honestly, I think she has attachment issues & issues with self respect, self identity. She's struggling between her whirlwind rush of emotions she feels for this other person and it can be seen via the chrous,
"You come on like a drug I just can't get enough I'm like an addict coming at you for a little more"
It's easy to see she really likes this person but when she says things like,
"I am a wolf but, I like to wear sheep's clothing"
And
"I have my reasons Call it my defense Be careful what you're wishing"
She's warning her partner not to get too close because even she realizes how 'damaged' she believes that she is.
I've known people that struggle with this push-pull in their relationships. She really likes them, but she's afraid of hurting them so it's easier to push them away intentionally to either spare the other person the eventual hurt or to just 'lets just get this over with' self fullfilling belief in themselves.
[Edit: Because again]
