This is, in my oppinion, one of van morrisons most under-rated songs ever. Instead of thinking like alot of people, that the occasional day like this, is a bad day and the rest are good, van says its occasionally there will be a good day thrown into the mix.
This is an older man's song - at least it is optimistic
This makes no sense. But then again, "mama told me there'll be days like this." How it only pertains to an older man, I am not certain. However, as a little girl, my aunt would call me little old man and appearntly it stuck and is, perhaps, why I love this song.

One of Vans best, great feeling to it. As with many of his tracks, great to listen too when walking about Belfast on a sunny, day, Botanic, Ormeau Road, etc. lol
For some reason I love running to this song. When it plays, I feel better and I want to run farther
This song talks about the days when unexpected good things happen. It's refreshing. He makes the days/moments to be almost like a fairytale that mama told you about and how unexpected the days/moments seem. I love this song!
