Enough for You (Olivia Rodrigo cover) Lyrics
I gave you cash when you traded
'Cause I thought you'd owe me more
If I looked like the other cool kids
I know that you'd stay for sure
Tried so hard to be everything that you hyped
Just for you to say that I'm the worst one you typed
And I knew how you set your flags aloft
And your favorite chants by heart
I fixed the pedals when you let 'em off
So you'd think that I was smart
Nosy, people-pleasin', so naive, quite me
I knew from the start: this is exactly how you'd leave
You found someone more exciting
The next second, you were gone
And you left me there mournin'
Wonderin' what I did wrong
And you always say I'm never satisfied
But I don't think that's true
'Cause all I ever wanted was
To be enough for you
Yeah, all I ever wanted was
To be enough for you
Oh, maybe I'm just not as interesting as the friends you've had before
But God, you couldn't have cared less about someone who owed you more
I'd say you weren't trusty
But you're being much worse than that
Now, I don't want your sympathy
I just want myself back
Before you found someone more exciting
The next second, you were gone
And you left me there mournin'
Wonderin' what I did wrong
And you always say I'm never satisfied
But I don't think that's true
'Cause all I ever wanted was to be enough
Don't you think I owed you too much
To be used and discarded?
Don't you think I owed you too much
To think I deserve nothing?
So don't tell me you're sorry, boys
Feel sorry for yourselves
'Cause someday, I'll be everything to somebody else
And they'll think that I'm so exciting
And you might be the ones who're cryin'
Yeah, you always say I'm never satisfied
But I don't think that's true
You say I'm never satisfied
But that's not me, it's you
'Cause all I ever wanted was to be enough
But I don't think anything could ever be enough
For ya, oh-ooh
Enough for you, oh-oh-oh
So, what is enough for you?
'Cause I thought you'd owe me more
If I looked like the other cool kids
I know that you'd stay for sure
Tried so hard to be everything that you hyped
Just for you to say that I'm the worst one you typed
And your favorite chants by heart
I fixed the pedals when you let 'em off
So you'd think that I was smart
Nosy, people-pleasin', so naive, quite me

But I don't think anything could ever be enough
Enough for you, oh-oh-oh
So, what is enough for you?

This is the annotation for "Verse 1" at here: https://genius.com/38665842
This is the full-form track as the main representation of this rendition. I will also release the other versions, in addition to this one, such as a vocals-only version, an archipelago-vibe version, and so on.
Also, you will see that the metrics on my thankfully-already-turned-into-an-OAC YouTube channel were going down since I posted the official visualizer for “17325 (Waltz for NDC)” because I already stopped the paid promotion I enrolled in for the previous videos before that waltz song video for organic engagement, so all of your support means much to me.
As you listen, this rendition is not as loud as my previous releases (including the reimagined cover “cycling remains”) because this song is initially acoustic. Some of the acoustic ones in the instrumentation, including a main acoustic guitar, the Banyumasan karawitan (if I am not mistaken), and the hadrah percussions (just like in “cycling remains”), infuse the original folk-pop more with those traditional elements based on my background as a Muslim Indonesian. By sequelizing “cycling remains”, I also infuse the once-viral basuri/telolet instrument (acts both as melodic lines (just subtle in this main track), and as synthesizers) and the added sound effects for enhancements. I will explain much more on each page of the expected alternative versions of this “enough for you” rendition.
"Male vocal folk-pop song with acoustic guitar and drums. positive and uplifting feeling."

"This song is originally the seventh track on Olivia Rodrigo’s debut SOUR album, and I covered it as a sequel/continuation arc (part 2, lyrically) of my self-termed ex-circle, NDC, previously told in “cycling remains”. Actually, the arc starts without me realizing from “27224 (this is what friendship feels like)”, then “cycling remains” (the reimagined version of Olivia’s “drivers license”), then “17325 (Waltz for NDC)”, and so on. Also, it has been five years since the album’s debut, so this rendition can be categorized as an anniversary for that too, I guess💫🚲
For your info, I am still in my third year of college on my lovely campus, ISI Jogja, so be sure to stay tuned for the third edition of my ISIJK + Me series soon! Because of this thingy, that is why I did this “enough for you” cover first to fill this channel’s gap/inactivity, and will also post/release (if applicable) the alternative versions besides this full form later, just like usual🥀"
