The Execution of George Stinney Lyrics

What a heartbreaking story I’m about to tell, of 14 year old George, a little boy’s hell.
Sweet as can be, very soft spoken, mannerly young man, his family left broken
See little George was black, in the Jim Crow South, 1940ish period, blacks murdered no doubt
Paid to confess, made to make statements, ‘bout two white girls, and unlikely engagement

How’d a 14 year boy, what a unfitting horror, understand the intent, death sentence for a quarter
His family was barred, solitary confinement, an all white jury, white racist attorney assignment
He had no defense, his lawyer didn’t even try, to defend the innocent, I agree he must die
In South Carolina, during that time, blacks were disposable, they made up their crimes

A history covered up, not taught in schools, now I give you the facts, unlike whitey fools.
Has life gotten better, maybe just a little, segregation still exists, just more artificial.
That area gone black, lets move further out, where blacks don’t exist, where they don’t move about.
See I use the word nigger, but I’m not a racist, oh some are good, I hear straight from their faces.

Chorus:

The good ones not niggers, but they are exceptions, for the color your skin, have to shed for protection.
DEI is collapsing, in no way reverse racism, now made a bad word, through a Caucasian prism.
Diversity and Inclusion, is all about representation, should match qualified candidates, qualified applications.
Quotas are just bullshit, if they didn’t actually cheat, and keep things in line, wouldn’t need the deceit.

If word hard to match quotas, then what are you doing?, trying to skirt the system, question what you’re pursuing.
My scholarship lost, my job was stolen, to an unqualified minority, this claim came out of your colon.
So stop with the games, and your sophistication, to cover up lies, the South has no vindication.
See crime follows poverty, poverty follows race, the system still rigged, just a smile on its face.

Just let them kill each other, we don’t dare go there, across the tracks, the black part of town is scary.
I don’t advocate crime, I don’t justify pure evil, but pushed to its limit, desperate does bad things to people
A harsh introduction, to young innocent children, do good in school, out of class better run.
Millions of 14 year boys, born without any hope, life as a black child, opportunity I say nope.
