Childhood Lyrics

I see signs up in the sky
Disappear before my eyes
Woah, woah
Guess we're all desensitized
Forgot the meaning of our lives
Woah, woah

What's going on with me?
Everybody seems
So lost, I wanna leave
2023, who the fuck are we?

Remember when we were young?
And we'd laugh at everything
Got caught up in a world
That forgot how to dream
I'd never thought we'd end up here
We're back in time
To the best years
Remember when we were young?
We thought we knew everything

Where did our childhood go? I wanna know
Where did our childhood go? I wanna know

We just need some time away
Take me back to yesterday
Woah, woah
Why is everyone afraid
To be themselves, not imitate?
Woah, woah

What's going on with me?
Everybody seems so lost, I wanna leave
2023, who the fuck are we?

Remember when we were young?
And we'd laugh at everything
Got caught up in a world
That forgot how to dream
I'd never thought we'd end up here
We're back in time
To the best years
Remember when we were young?
We thought we knew everything

Where did our childhood go? I wanna know
Where did our childhood go? I wanna know

Cover art for Childhood lyrics by Blink-182

Simple mid-life crisis song in which Mark & Tom realize their youth is firmly behind them. Blink-182 began as a San Diego-based punk band in the early 1990's, but did not achieve mainstream success until 1999's "Enema of the State." At the time, bassist Mark Hoppus was 27 years old, which often caught fans and critics by surprise due to the immaturity of their lyrics and simplicity of their songs. Mark and Tom are bewildered to still be writing and touring as Blink-182 at nearly 50 years old, and can't believe their childhood is now several decades behind them.
