I’m finding it hard to forget,
when all the signs around me send me right back where I started,
moving forward never seemed to be a situation,
that we could overcome
All I needed was time,
to grow and swallow my pride.
Admit that I was wrong, all that’s left is regret,
Shadows of what’s come to pass,
Because you hung on my every word, and I let you fall,
Because the man staring back at me is not who you know at all
And now I’ve gone against everything I stand for,
making the same mistakes a thousand times
who the fuck am I? to dream such dreams,
casting such a black cloud above my head
I’ll sew my eyes, so they can’t be my guide,
reflections of my past is all I see
I know a place where we can both escape to,
and wash all our troubles away with every crashing wave,
believe in me, like you did when we were young
and nothing mattered more then making it through the night,
alive so we could see the sun rise one more time,
and we have nothing to fear, we will rebuild it all,
until we cast out our eyes from the highest heights
and see what we have achieved

then why do you still call this home?
