I'm looking through a portal
It's got eyes and a mastery of gravity
I'm lucky to be here now
I was lonely, talk to me, talk to me

I got a new perspective
The glass in my hand, it ain't exactly full
The place at my table is an empty stool, talk to me, talk to me

Confusion is trying to take a hold of me
All I wanted was peace inside a sanctuary
I lived my life so desperate to be in control
Scared of getting hurt again
But now I realize it's all for nothing
All for nothing

I'm like the bugs that sleep for years
Conditions are ripe, they fly into the sun
The spectacle gets to you
Life is always new, talk to me, talk to me

From my waking sleep, I fear
You're planning to prize yourself away from me
You're planning to exit from my misery
I can take a lot
But I'm not prepared to face the alone

Confusion is trying to take a hold of me
All I wanted was peace inside a sanctuary
I lived my life so desperate to be in control
Scared of getting hurt again
But now I realize it's all for nothing
All for nothing

All I want is your hand on mine
Slow rubbing, ecstasy of company
I'm facing the lonely night
With my fading sight, talk to me, talk to me

Many times I faced the wall
I called for the peace and now I've got it all
Peace grows into anguish
When your heart leaks, talk to me, talk to me

Confusion is trying to take a hold of me
All I wanted was peace inside a sanctuary
I lived my life so desperate to be in control
Scared of getting hurt again
But now I realize it's all for nothing
All for nothing

Confusion is trying to take a hold of me
All I wanted was peace inside a sanctuary
I lived my life so desperate to be in control
Scared of getting hurt again
But now I realize it's all for nothing
All for nothing

Delusions are all my present currency
They're causing the poison in my veins
And voices, hearing voices
Telling me to beat the clock
Doctor, please release me now
I can't afford to waste another second
I can't waste it

Confusion is trying to take a hold of me
All I wanted was peace inside a sanctuary
I lived my life so desperate to be in control

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
