An airline ticket clearly broadens the mind
a lonely planet or an old travel guide
can help if you don't know where you are headed to.
Local knowledge is something you earn
Takes the time as the world it turns
When you've found somewhere you know you will stay.
When came your chance to go
well, you never let me know
so I stood there waiting for
three days or maybe more
If i'd spent those days with you
you could have shown me what to do
but I stood there waiting for the world to turn
Noones accusing you of running away
but when we spoke just yesterday
you gave me no reason to beleive
you'd quit your job and just decided to leave
If you had asked me, well what could I have done
to stop you leaving for the pull of sun?
Friendship's warmth isn't something you lose
though time and words can help you through that's true.
