What the artist means The singer is crooning over a taciturn beat, she's been through a lot in the past relationship and she puts it on wax. She's singing about a lover that had so many lies, he looked her right in the eyes and painted so many untrue pictures. Maybe fake love is better than feeling lonely, she got so used to the murky waters, now she's going through a withdrawal that he's gone. She has so many stories that she still has to write, she's taking it a step at a time, showing us all the travails she endured in the deceitful relationship. She's so used to losses now, it's hardly a breath of fresh air any time that a real one comes around. The track closes out with a powerful rendition of the catchy hook, as she closes out the track with a relish.
What the song means to me This track is another emotional banger from one of the best young voices out there, the theme is quite surreal considering her tender years. She set out to capture my imagination, and it's clear for all to see that she did just that. She's doing amazing things with her voice, she's riding the beat do effortlessly, and it's no wonder that she's held in such high regards by the industry. This track got my mind racing to all those lonely times where I would have preferred fake love instead, it's one for the ages. I will give this song a rating of 9/10.
