Keep My Name Outta Your Mouth Lyrics
Yeah
Cry to myself and hanging 'round
This old vessel that is, is running 'round
I seem to recall feeling serene
My hand on the hip of a beautiful being
And light in my eye and love in my heart
It went away and you tore it apart
Here's to hoping you fall six feet south
Keep my name out of your mouth
Yeah, she'd wrote back and I got down
I didn't want no, nobody around
Now that you have had your fun
You got all your dropping guns
And now I disappear, I always did
Held them near my coffin lair
Just a hoping you'd fall six feet south
Keep my name out of your mouth
Yeah, your mouth, yeah
This old vessel that is, is running 'round
I seem to recall feeling serene
My hand on the hip of a beautiful being
And light in my eye and love in my heart
Keep my name out of your mouth
I didn't want no, nobody around
Now that you have had your fun
You got all your dropping guns
And now I disappear, I always did
Held them near my coffin lair
Keep my name out of your mouth
Yeah, your mouth, yeah

What the artist means This track starts with a rock instrumental, it then descends into a frantic abyss seeing the lead vocalist take over the stage. He's singing about all the trials that come with fame, he's floating over the guitar with such ease. He's belting the lyrics about a lover that is way too hard to please, no matter how much he tries. He's beating himself up for not noticing sooner than now, he's calling her out now that he's famous. His voice occasionally gets drowned out by the throbbing production which is quite rowdy, to say the least. He's playing the electric guitar is an electric motion, as the track comes to a frantic conclusion.
What the song means to me Rock music has become super diluted these days, it has seen so many posers call themselves rock stars, but luckily the old guard won't just stay there sitting pretty. This track sees the rock stars belt out the lyrics in a way reminiscent of the glory days of the genre. The track makes me want to step into a time machine and make my way to the days of Nirvana and the likes. It's one of the most real rock tunes out there, and I couldn't stop bopping my head aggressively. I will give this song a rating of 8/10.
This standout track comes off the artiste's latest reissue titled "Brothers Deluxe Remastered 10th Anniversary Edition". The track was produced by Mark Neill, Patrick Carney & Dan Auerbach. It was released via major streaming platforms on December 18, 2020.
